The private three-day trip to the gorges of Todra and the great dunes of Merzouga is a trip that spans over three days, departing from Marrakech. Just passing Tichka pass and the high Atlas mountains, we arrive first at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a famous fortified village, then Ouarzazate, famous for its movie studios. We will cross the great Valley of Roses to arrive in The evening at the gorges of Dades Canyon. The next day, we'll continue on the road towards Merzouga, visiting the Todra gorges known for their palm trees and their mountains crossed by a long river. Arriving at Merzouga desert where we'll be taken in charge by camel riders who will lead us on camels back to the campsite. After contemplating the sunset on the dunes of Merzouga, around a fire, songs and dances of the Twareg will accompany us while we enjoy a good dinner and the silence under the stars will lull us until sunrise. The last day will be back to Marrakech by Alnif, Tazarin, Agdez, and Ouarzazate.

    The spirit of Morocco

There are journeys that simply expand your map. And there are journeys that expand you. Morocco was unmistakably the latter. From the very first to the very last day, the trip was organized with remarkable precision, attention to detail, and genuine respect for the traveler—not merely as a tourist, but as a guest welcomed into an ancient and magnetic culture. The balance between a rich itinerary, free time, and authentic experiences was, frankly, impressively spot-on. Morocco revealed itself to us in all its facets—vibrant and colorful in the medinas, majestic and silent in the desert, aromatic, warm, and alive. Each day brought a new story, a new flavor, a new shade of wonder. Nothing felt scripted; everything felt real. Special appreciation is due to the organization, the local guides, and the accompanying team—professional, calm, knowledgeable, and possessing that rare quality of being supportive without ever being intrusive. When everything flows seamlessly, one rarely considers the effort behind it. Here, everything did just that—smoothly, safely, and with undeniable class. We set off for Morocco with curiosity. We returned with admiration. And with that faint, bittersweet feeling of wanting just a little more. Thank you for the experience, for the professionalism, and for turning a journey into a memory—one that will be retold for a long time, with a smile and a sparkle in the eyes. With great pleasure—again, and always with you. Thank you, Mouhssin, for the excellent organization. And heartfelt thanks to Ali for all the days he devoted to us and for being with us every step of the way.

    Unforgettable experience

This trip was the highlight of our trip through Morocco with two young children aged 5 and 7. What an experience! First of all we would like to thank Anouar very much: a very caring driver with a big heart who knows the road inside out. Hairpin bends, beautiful vistas, breathtaking landscapes that seem to flow into a completely different world every few minutes — all punctuated with interesting stories of Anouar who talks with so much love about his country and Berber culture. We also had the honor and great fortune to meet his beautiful family in Tineghir, which will stay with us and our children forever. Along the way there was always room for a stopover. The arrival in Merzouga was amazing: everything felt so magical and the children enjoyed it immensely. The nomad tents are amazing and we were served the most delicious tagines. Also the music and the campfire: everything felt perfect. The hospitality we experienced during this trip is incredible: warm and loving. On the way to Fez we made a short stop and we could see monkeys, for the children also really great. Anouar, I hope that one day we have the honor of meeting you and your family again — you were not only a great driver but also became our friend. Thank you for giving us such beautiful memories and sharing your knowledge and love with such enthusiasm!

    Once in a lifetime experience

What a fantastic three-day adventure we just experienced! A once-in-a-lifetime journey: We set off from Marrakech, heading towards the Atlas Mountains, reaching the Tizi n'Tichka Pass at an impressive altitude of 2260 meters. Following the Kasbah route, our first major stop was in the stunning valleys of Telouet and Ait Ben Haddou. This area has been the backdrop for numerous blockbuster films, including "Gladiator" and "Prince of Persia." At each point of interest, we paused to take in the beauty, eventually making our way to our first night in the breathtaking Dades Canyon. On day two, after a spectacular breakfast, we continued our journey towards the Todra Gorges, a region known for its rich Berber heritage, towering cliffs, and nomadic lifestyle. After lunch, we ventured into the Sahara, where we embarked on an amazing camel ride, culminating in a stunning sunset over Merzouga. Experiencing this magical moment was truly unforgettable! Our final night was spent in a beautiful glamping Berber tent, where we felt like royalty. We were warmly welcomed and treated to a delightful Moroccan dinner. As the evening drew to a close, we enjoyed a private performance of local music under a breathtaking starry sky. We woke early at 6:00 AM to witness the sunrise, and after breakfast, we made our way back to Marrakech for our last evening. This entire experience came highly recommended by our Riad O, thanks to Manu. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our two incredible and experienced guides, Khalid and Mohammed, who took such wonderful care of us throughout these three days. We wholeheartedly recommend this extraordinary trip! Warm regards, Claude en Veronique

They were not only great drivers but also knowledgeable guides, answering all our questions and showing us some real hidden gems along the way. The landscapes were breathtaking—from the golden dunes of Merzouga to the stunning rock formations of the Todra Gorges. Everything was well-organized, and we truly felt immersed in the beauty of Morocco. Highly recommended!

3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert cost?

    +

Prices start at €299 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

    +

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Marrakech: 1 Day Tour-Best of Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys, 3 Days Merzouga Desert Tour from Marrakech with Luxury Camp, Marrakech: Atlas Mountains, Ourika Valley, Waterfall + Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert?

    +

Included: Private transportation; Dinner; In-vehicle air conditioning; and Breakfast. Not included: Gratuities; and Lunch. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 729 listed pickup locations in and around Marrakech. Be ready about 10 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert offered in?

    +

It is offered in Arabic, English, French and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

Is 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert wheelchair or stroller accessible?

    +

The operator notes: Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

What happens to 3-Days Private Tour in Merzouga Desert if the weather is bad?

    +

This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
