About this experience

It's said that a wealthy local family once refused a poor woman and her son hospitality and that God was displeased, causing the family to be buried under the mounds of sand that now make up Erg Chebbi, located 50km south of Erfoud. But the reality of these dunes is genuinely remarkable. They can shape-shift and can reach heights of up to 160m. The way they illuminate in a beautiful rose gold hue until the afternoon sun changes their colour to orange, pink, and purple is truly a sight to behold. These majestic dunes rise above the twin towns of Merzouga and are nothing short of breathtaking.

Amazing adventures in Morocco

Luiza at Sahara Trek planned a most exciting 9 day tour for my friends and I. We saw Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Chefchaoun, Todra Gorge, Ait Ben Haddou, and Marrakech. The Riads in Rabat, Fez, Chefchaoun & Marrakech were beautiful, and the kasbah and glamp tents in the desert so much fun. Our driver was top notch, caring and so knowledgeable, along with all of our city guides. I'll be planning another tour of Morocco with the friends I left behind.

Amazing experience :)

We just finished an incredible 4-day trip in Morocco organized by the agency, and it honestly exceeded all our expectations. Everything was very well planned from the beginning, which allowed us to relax and really enjoy every moment. We were guided by Moubarack and driven by Rachid, and they were both fantastic. Moubarack is extremely knowledgeable and warm; he shared so many insights about Moroccan history, culture, and daily life, and was always happy to answer all our questions. Rachid is a very skilled and calm driver, and we always felt safe and well taken care of during long drives. We visited beautiful villages, stunning landscapes, and many places we would have never found on our own. The desert experience was definitely the highlight for us, but I won't share details. I just can recommend to find by your own! We also loved the visit to the eco-farm and ecolodge — peaceful atmosphere, great food, and really friendly people. What made the trip truly special was how personal it felt. Thanks to Moubarack, we never felt like “tourists being transported around,” but like guests being welcomed into the country. I couldn’t recommend this agency more!

Wonderful experience in the Sahara Dessert

I took a tour with KARMA DIR TRAVEL with my girlfriend of 4 days 3 nights to Merzouga, starting from Marrakesh and finishing my trip in Fes. Mubarak was everyday following up how we were doing and ensuring we were receiving the proper service which was definitely amazing. We visited different places like Ait benhaddou, Monkey Fingers, Thodra Gorges and many more, but the main experience we wanted to live was in Merzouga, the dunes, the dessert camp and hotel were amazing. We rode Camel and the guide guys were very gently, they took us amazing pictures with the sunset and camels. We also rode quad bikes, another magnificent experience that any traveler should not miss. Mubarak again arranged everything for us and we were only happy. Highly recommended, secure, which is one of the most important factors. I am glad of sharing some pictures of this great live experience.

4 day desert tour.

The busride was a little odd, but the driver was most kind. The desert was really beautiful. Not everyone got what he/she expected but the company is really helpful so if you ask they will do anything to make you happy. Really fun experience, with an extra day in the desert camp.

3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek cost?

+

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek take?

+

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 60 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek?

+

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3 Days Merzouga Sahara Tour & Camel Trek start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
