A Feast of History, Culture & Nature
Our UNESCO Heritage sites in Albania for 3 days was a feast of history and nature. Xhuliano our professional guide and skilled driver was knowledgeable and dedicated. We were able to converse fluently with him about many topics. Well organised, nothing was too much effort for him. We had the wonderful cultural experience of staying in an ancient Gjirokaster watch tower and another night in Berat castle. Overall the trip was modestly priced and outstanding value for this historic, cultural tour.

Great Private Tour of Southern Albania
Our group (3 Americans) booked this tour and enjoyed it a lot! Our tour guide Skerdi B was very professional, knowledgeable, familiar with his culture, history, and locale. He shared with us the history of the country, interesting information on each of the places we went to, shared/sang some of the traditional/unique music of Albania. The accommodations at each location were very nice but different. In Gjirokastër we stayed at a more traditional accommodation a short walk from the main area and the castle. Food, beverages, and things to buy were plentiful. In Himara we stayed in a seaside hotel, just a minute walk from the beach and a ton of restaurants and water tour options. Part of this package was a boat tour of the area including Pirates Cave and another one whose name I forgot. We stopped a few times and got in the crystal clear water (cool and refreshing). I decided to swim with my iPhone to one of the areas (holding phone above water with one hand) and Skerdi was gracious enough to not only take some photos of my wife and I in the water but also to swim back to the boat with the iPhone above water (saving me from having to do so). Other things we did on the tour was to go to Peshturës waterfall which unfortunately was dry (dry summer) but still beautiful hike and view (hike probably medium skill level), and a short stop at Skerdi’s parents’ place where we were warmly greeted by his mom with some homemade cheese and raki. Albanians have a reputation of being very friendly and welcoming and this was what we experienced. The great thing is that this was a private tour - three of us and Skerdi in a comfortable air conditioned vehicle. It was nice not being on a tour with a large group of people or strict timelines but rather a relaxing and enjoyable time. We would definitely do this tour again and others with the Local Friends Albania tour group!

Incredible tour through South Albania!
This trip was pure joy from start to finish! Gjirokastra was full of history and charm, the Blue Eye was breathtaking, and the coastline near Himara was absolutely stunning. Every stop had something special to offer – nature, culture, and relaxation all in one. The group was fun, the guide was super friendly and knowledgeable, and everything was planned perfectly. I felt like I got to experience the real, authentic side of Southern Albania. Highly recommended if you’re looking for an adventure with beautiful views, warm vibes, and unforgettable memories!

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.
How much does 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera cost?
+
Prices start at $567 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.
Is 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3-Day South Albania : Gjirokastra, Blue Eye, Himara, Riviera start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tirana?
+
On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, Berat Cooking Class- Traditional Albanian Cooking Class /By Vato. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tirana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tirana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
