Best Transylvania tour and guide!
Claudio was the best guide and driver. He is very knowledgeable in Romanian history, culture, and all aspects. He took really good care of my mother and me. We feel that Claudio treated us like very dear friends. Our accommodations were great! The sites visited are not to be missed. We highly recommend this tour and the guide Claudio.

Travel Transylvania
Our guide, Claudiu, treated us like family. He followed the itinerary, but I feel he gave us so much more. He went over and beyond to help us experience Romania.

Transylvania By Land!
We wanted to see Transylvania by land, not sea. Our tour guide, Claudio had 25-years of experience. He took us to the highlights — Pele’s Castle, the fort, Bran Castle and Dracula’s birth place. He knew the history. We stayed in Brasov at the Radisson Blu. We toured that city on our own. We took Claudio up on his extra bear tour on our way back to Bucharest. He loved the thrill of finding the bears — mostly young cubs hanging out on the side of the road. There were plenty! A papa bear actually ran after the car. We got away just fine. We also visited a beautiful lake along with the hilltop castle Vlad the impaler called home near the end of his life. Claudio delivered us to our Bucharest Hotel. At times, his European driving and passing on the road had us worried. Other than that, he did an excellent job! If you are interested in a land tour of Transylvania, then this option works great!

Claudiu the Best
Our driver Claudiu is more than a tour guide and a photographer. He is also our bodyguard who always puts safety first! Kind, gentle, professional, simple and fun. Also he drives so well. Great at communications and very flexible with our schedule. We were surprisingly amazed by the rich history of Bran Castle and the views in Sighișoara and Brasov. Missing these persimmon gypsy houses and the lands already! Would recommend Claudiu to anyone who is interested in the 3-day tour. Next time we’re planning to go hiking in the most beautiful highway in the world!! ❤️

Transylvania tour - partially satisfied
Overall experience was ok. The early communication from tour operator was NOT great - we booked maybe 2 months in advance and then about 2 weeks before the tour we started to reach out to clarify specifics and we didnt get any response until 2 days before the tour. Also, they did not tell us until the pickup morning of our tour that there was a change in our tour itinerary about one of the main attraction being closed for renovation and that instead of staying at two different cities for the 2 overnight accommodation we would be staying only at Brasov for both nights (instead of one night at Sighisoara which we had looked forward to). Our driver/guide was good and helpful - but the company was not so forthcoming with the changes etc which I was not happy about. We would most likely have stuck with the tour given we came from Asia and had a very tightly planned schedule inlcuding wanting to visit Transylvania.

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.
How much does 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest cost?
+
Prices start at $710 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.
Is 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3-Day Private Tour of Medieval Transylvania from Bucharest start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bucharest?
+
On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bucharest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bucharest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
