Exceptional Private Tours in Cusco with One Small Area for Improvement
We had an incredible experience with Kantu Tours during our week in Cusco. As a family of four (including our two kids, ages 11 and 12), we booked private tours to the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Humantay Lake, and Rainbow Mountain, and every tour was well organized from start to finish. Our guide, Henry, was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Peru, patient with our kids, and always had a positive attitude that made every day enjoyable. Our driver, Jaime, was equally amazing. The mountain roads can be intimidating, but he drove with great care and professionalism, making us feel safe throughout the trip. Kantu Tours was also very attentive and communicative before and during our vacation. Every detail was handled smoothly, and we always felt taken care of. The only reason I'm not giving an even stronger recommendation is the restaurant selection for lunch. Since we paid a premium for private tours, we expected meals that reflected that level of service. While the lunch at Embrujo during our Sacred Valley tour was excellent, the meals on the other tours felt more like standard group-tour restaurants and didn't match the quality we anticipated for a private experience. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I would absolutely recommend Kantu Tours. The exceptional service from Henry, Jaime, and the entire team far outweighed our disappointment with the lunch selections. 10/10 for the professionalism, communication, and overall experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear your family had such a wonderful experience and that Henry and Jaime made your trip special and safe throughout. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the lunch selections—this helps us improve and better match the expectations of our private services. It was a pleasure to take care of your trip, and we hope to welcome you again soon in Peru!

3 Amazing Days in Cusco/Machu Picchu
Our experience with Kantu Peru Tours was absolutely amazing! The communication when every individual was prompt and super helpful. Starting with Heidi when I booked for the wrong days. She was able to catch this based on the flight info I sent her and got it corrected for me ASAP! It was even more impressive since we booked the trip only a couple days prior. Our flight from Lima to Cusco was delayed and both Heidi and Waldir were amazing with keeping track of us and making sure we had everything we needed. They were very accommodating since we missed a part of the tour given the flight delay. Suggestion I would have is build in a full travel day before starting your adventure to account for delays. Cusco was also such a charming and interesting city, so I wish I had more time to just explore it. Evelyn came to our hotel and gave us an overview of our Machu Picchu excursion and did an amazing job of both giving us exact details (helped a lot!) and sharing some cultural insights and answering all our random questions. The entire trip to Machu Picchu was amazing. From the initial drive and getting to see more of the city, to the absolutely spectacular train ride and views (definitely upgrade to the vistadom if you can). When we arrived in Aguas Caliente we were met by someone with a sign with our name and she made sure we got to where we needed (super helpful since it was very crowded and hectic). The bus ride to Machu Picchu was also filled with breathtaking views! When we arrived we found our guide, Karol, super easy (he actually spotted us, not sure how lol) and he was an amazing guide. It’s a bit of a trek up and Karol was very patient and gave us so much good info on the way up. If you can do the extra trek up to Sungate. It’s an extra 40 min up the mountain, but the views are amazing and you get more time on the actual Inca Trail. Karol was also the absolute best photographer and captured the best memories for us. Those pics were worth the price alone! We were again greeted by our driver, Eddie, and it was another great drive back to the hotel in Cusco. The stars were out in full force, so the drive home was another great part of the trip. Eddie was also a great sport helping us with our Spanish and answering all our random questions. The last morning of our trip Waldir came personally to our hotel to escort us with the driver to the airport. He was so helpful throughout and just gave us a sense of ease. All we were focused on was having a great time and they did the rest in the most professional and helpful manner! I will definitely be back to Peru and will use Kantu for all our adventures 😊

3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $474 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3-Day Cusco and Machu Picchu Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
