About this experience
Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya- Africa. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife tends to be most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. The Masai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).

Amazing experience!
I strongly recommend Sam and his team. They taught us a great number of things from Kenya and are also very kind and fun to be around. You would be lucky to have them.

Above and beyond expectations
I travelled with Bush-thorn Adventures for a five days and four nights trip covering Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru National Park, Naivasha (Hell's Gate, Lake Naivasha and Cresent Island) and Aberdare National Park led by Ole (Gitau) and Joseph as our trip aficionados. The trip was very well planned and executed and both guides went above and beyond to accommodate our needs to ensure that the trip lived up to our expectations. It came down to little things such as prioritising which animals we chased through the Mara to seeking out specific foods for lunch breaks on the road. The attention to detail and communication was very professional and friendly throughout the trip. We paid for an inclusive trip and they not only delivered but went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Bush-thorn Adventures for anyone looking for a hassle free trip and looking to make memories of a life time.

Lifetime memories, 3 nights 4 days Safari. Masai Mara,Lake Vaiasha, Lake Nakuru
Beware the traffic and bumpy roads in Nairobi, but these guides and drivers make it such a pleasure to travel. In the short time I had I was able to see all the animals. Everything that exists in Kenya we saw! Lions, Zebras, Giraffes ( beautiful, graceful giraffes, ) Buffaloes, wild beast, impalas, gazelle and all the rest of the family. I wanted to see hippopotamuses, we saw plenty. Thank you so very much, it was wonderful and I can’t wait to come back for more!

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari cost?
+
Prices start at $330 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 72-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3 Day 2 Nights Maasai Mara Safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
