Lisbon Cathedral
Lisbon Cathedral, better known as Sé de Lisboa, is the oldest and most important church in the city, located in the Alfama district, it is the symbol of the Christian Reconquest, it is the most important church oldest in the capital. It was born in the Romanesque style but in the following centuries it underwent significant transformations in a Gothic style and although it has gone through the ages in an exemplary way, it has suffered several natural disasters such as the great earthquake of 1755. Its construction began in 1147 at the request of the first king of Portugal Afonso Henriques. This decision was made shortly after retaking the city from the Moors. It was built on the site of an old mosque to mark the triumph of the reconquest of Lisbon. It is a pioneer monument and a very good way to immerse yourself in the beginning of our walk.

Transportation
Our driver had quite an accent and could not hear him above the noise in the city. Based on the stops of other Tuk Tuk tours, we got the basic. One photo op. Just FYI: this may not be the transportation mode if you have a bad back. It’s very bumpy and not comfortable. Since the city is very hilly you need to take a bus or taxi unless you are in great shape. Really need a better guide to explain the history. We just paid for the transportation so didn’t get a lot out of this tour.

I must admit I read your review with some surprise, as the details do not match any tour I personally guided during that period, my season had in fact already ended by that date. It is possible there has been a mix-up in the booking records, and I will gladly look into it with the Viator team. That said, your comments are valuable. A guide should always be clearly heard and bring the city's history to life, and I am sorry that this was not your experience. Comfort on a tuk-tuk and the city's steep hills are points I always make a point of preparing my guests for in advance.
