American Review
Absolutely amazing. As an American who’s traveled the world over a few times, I highly recommend. If you’re a veteran, government employee, or just a crazy American, ask for Christos. Very professional and watches your back the whole time. We added a stop at Mount Olympus as well and I did a solo summit in December but this is for experienced mountaineers only. Either way, Christos will set you up for the experience of a lifetime and watch your six the whole time. The guy was more like family than my driver. Top tier and I don’t say that lightly

Reliable and pleasant driver!
Christo took us on a day trip to Meteora from Athens, and thanks to his skillful yet safe driving we were able to visit a good number of the monasteries. His knowledge of which monasteries to visit based on our preferences and needs was very helpful in planning our visit. More generally, he was a very pleasant driver who treated us to extra snacks and ice cold water along the journey. We highly recommend!

It was such a perfect...
It was such a perfect trip. The drive through the countryside, the adorable and elegant hotel (think B&B), and we could not have gotten a better guide than Christos. He knew where to go, scenic stops for photos, good places to eat, and had to answer a ton of our questions. Delphi was awe inspiring. So many centuries of history. And the monasteries were unbelievable.

Breathtaking!
We did this tour as part of a longer tour (Apostle Paul Tour) of mainland Greece. Our driver, Nikolaos, made transportation/lodging/food a breeze. This allowed us to really focus our attention on the amazing archeological sites of Delphi and the impressive geological features of the still-active monasteries at Meteora. Our group of four included a teenager, two 50somethings and one senior and we did not have any trouble navigating the sometimes steep steps of both these sites. We arrived at our hotel near Delphi after dark (we had added a side stop on our way there - these tours are very flexible!), so we were pleasantly surprised to see the view of a quaint village perched on the side of steep hills in the morning sunlight. The views at Delphi were incredible and there are so many layers of history there that it was hard to take it all in! Nikolaos knew all the best vantage points at Meteora and we had the perfect amount of time in the museums and at the sites. It was so nice to be dropped off and picked up right at the gate. We highly recommend Greece Taxi!
Response from the operator: Hello Laurie. Thank you a lot for your kindness.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries) cost?
+
Prices start at $220 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries) take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries)?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 2 Days Private Tour/ Delphi (Apollo Oracle) & Meteora (Orthodox Monasteries) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
