    About this experience

Our cooking class will make the authentic Greek Moussaka dish and Spanakopita pie by opening your phyllo pastry (Spinach pie). We will make two classic traditional pies: Spinach pie and Milk pie. In addition to making homemade pies, we will prepare Greek island-inspired salad with cherry tomatoes aromatized with aged local vinegar and Greek yogurt tzatziki sauce. Our kitchen is a few steps from Monastiraki square in the funky neighborhood of Psirri. I'll wait for you there, on the rooftop terrace with Acropolis views. We'll start preparations and chat to break the ice and talk about Greek and Mediterranean cuisine; then, I'll show you the ingredients we'll need. Then the cooking class can begin! When we are finished, we will cook, eat, and savor our food together with amazing views of the Acropolis monuments and Parthenon temple lit at night and the vivid center of Athens overlooking the dome of Aghios Dimitrios church. We don't have a gluten-free option. Vegetarians are welcome!

Chef Spyros, Acropolis view, and Greek food - The perfect combination for a stellar night

Chef Spyros was the perfect teacher, chef, and entertainer. We had the most amazing time. This was the fourth and final cooking class we had as part of our European vacation and it was by far the best of the series. The prep kitchen was set up perfectly for the class size and the level of instruction was top notch. The atmosphere during the class as well as during the dinner afterwards were wonderful. And the food of course was outstanding. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Delightful and Delicious Cooking Experience in Athens

This was one of our favorite experiences of our visit to Athens. Our chef was very prepared and gave us great background information about the recipes we were creating. He made it a lot of fun and the end products were delicious. Enjoying our delicious meal on a rooftop overlooking the Acropolis was the best! I highly recommend this experience. Can't wait to try some of these recipes now that I have returned home.

An amazing class with an experienced host

This was an amazing experience! A great crowd of people, wonderful food and wine, and picked up lots of cooking tips beyond the Greek recipes. Stam was a wonderful, funny and very experienced host chef. We were lucky to have him! Highly recommend this class.

    Spyros was an absolutely...

Spyros was an absolutely fantastic chef and instructor! My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful time learning how to cook traditional Greek dishes, and we’re definitely planning to recreate them for our friends once we’re back home. The small class was perfect, it made the experience feel personal and gave everyone plenty of opportunities to participate in the cooking. Eating everything we prepared together on the rooftop was the perfect cherry on top of an already wonderful class. A fantastic experience from start to finish!

Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 92 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,050 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View?

    +

Around 368 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
