About this experience
Ioanna has been a food editor and editor in chief for more than 20 years. She is a passionate cook and pastry chef, who loves writing about food, creating new recipes and making cooking videos. She is most excited to share recipes that you will not find in restaurants - she calls them the hidden gems of traditional Greek cuisine. Also, she has been on a quest to revive traditional, local recipes that have been forgotten over time. Cooking traditional Greek and Mediterranean food and sweets for friends and family is something Ioanna has enjoyed over the years, and now she would love to share her passion and knowledge with travelers visiting Athens. • Private Greek cooking lesson with a food editor and published author • In your 1.5 hour class you will cook two dishes together - a seasonal salad and main dish • Perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food and try a home-cooked Greek meal • Vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten free options available

A wonderful evening of food and conversation.
Ionna was so welcoming when we arrived. She offered us a delicious herbal tea and engaged us in conversation to get to know us. She was very accommodating for our Gluten free companion. She showed us how to cook the dishes as well as explaining the ingredients we were using. We had a delicious 3 course meal with 3 appetizers, a main dish and dessert. She had wine to go with the dinner. We felt like friends by the end of the meal. She even told us which islands to find some of the ingredients that she used and we searched for them on our cruise so we can recreate the recipes. We highly recommend booking with her.

Simply Amazing
Good Food and Conversation. Visiting Ionnas place was one of the best things during our trip. All 4 dishes were super delicious and can be cooked at home. I highly recommend doing a cooking class with her.

Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna cost?
+
Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna take?

Is Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna?

Is Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Greek Cooking Class in Athens with Food Editor & Author Ioanna start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
