What you get

    About this experience

    - 100% Vegetarian, Zero Compromise: Portuguese cuisine is heavily centered on pork and seafood, making it tough for vegetarians to explore authentically. We’ve completely reimagined the local food tour, offering rich, traditional, naturally meat-free alternatives that show off the true depth of local cooking. - Flatter Route, Less Climbing: Lisbon is famous for grueling hills and slippery stones. This tour takes place entirely within Baixa, majestic historic center of the city, letting you explore and feast comfortably. - A Complete, Flexible Full Meal: This isn't a tour of tiny toothpick samples. Across 5 distinct local stops featuring dense savory bakes, rich regional bread broths, and fresh-baked pastries, this experience completely replaces your breakfast, lunch, or dinner. - Historic Liquid Traditions: Toast like a true local. Experience a shot of sweet, ruby-red Ginjinha sour cherry liqueur right on the cobblestones outside a legendary, century-old street hole-in-the-wall.

    • Visits to authentic taverns, bakeries and local food businesses
    • Small-group experience (maximum 10 guests)
    • Local English, Spanish, Portuguese speaking foodie guide
    • Traditional ginjinha cherry liqueur tasting

    What you'll see and do

    1. Kick off your culinary adventure at one of Europe's oldest and most elegant bakeries, operating beautifully since 1829. Taste the divine Pão de Deus ("Bread of God")—a soft, cloud-like brioche sweet roll covered in a rich, toasted coconut crust that locals enjoy at any hour of the day.

      20 minutes here

    2. Stop by a historic, family-run street counter to participate in Lisbon's favorite local ritual. Toss back an authentic shot of Ginjinha, a sweet and tart wild cherry liqueur crafted locally for generations to wake up your palate.

      20 minutes here

    3. Casa do Alentejo

Dive into traditional Portuguese tavern culture. Here, you'll savor Açorda Alentejana com Ovo—a deeply comforting, traditional garlic, coriander, and olive oil bread broth served with a poached egg. Pair it with a plate of crispy Peixinhos da Horta (deep-fried, tempura-battered green beans, which historically inspired Japanese tempura!).

      30 minutes here

    4. Head into a cozy neighborhood tavern to try a hearty local bake. Dig into a warm, bubbling Empadão de Lentilhas—a savory Portuguese-style shepherd's pie packed with rich, slow-simmered lentils and topped with a golden layer of fluffy mashed potatoes.

      30 minutes here

    5. End your tour on a legendary sweet note at the undisputed champion of Portuguese pastry. Stand right outside the counter and bite into a warm, freshly baked Pastel de Nata—the iconic custard tart featuring an impossibly flaky pastry shell and a perfectly blistered, caramelized top.

Do not book this tour !

We booked a Vegetarian tour of street food. we were given a small piece of sweet bread at one bakery. We waited 15 minutes for it. You will walk from one restaurant to another location. There is no advance booking. We waited 20 minutes for a table at another restaurant and given cream spinach. We asked for bread and told we would be charged for it. It was not included. The guide was very concerned we would not pay and hovered over us. The next place we waited again for 15 minutes. Then the guide left to get us a pastry. No one at the table including the other group knew what food was served. Asking the waiter was not helpful because we did not speak the same language. We decided at this restaurant to leave the tour. The other group made the same decision. When I brought this experience to the attention of the booking venue we were offered excuses and 50% off another booking. Do not waste your time or money booking this tour! We booked this as a vegetarian tour and in fact it was a non vegetarian tour. They look for accommodations for us rather than focusing on vegetarian.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that this is a walking food tour and that the itinerary includes several local venues connected by short walks through the city. On the day of your tour, Lisbon was experiencing unusually high temperatures and it was also a public holiday, resulting in longer-than-normal waiting times at some establishments. The vegetarian itinerary included additional dedicated vegetarian dishes and venues. However, reaching some of these stops required a walk of approximately 10 minutes. Due to the heat, members of the group chose not to continue to those locations, and our guide adjusted the route accordingly based on the guests' preferences. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to improve the experience for future guests. We wish you safe and enjoyable travels.

    great food!

Great tour by Isabella! Very good veggie food especially the Esparregado. We would have liked a few more facts about the city, but really great for understanding how the Portuguese eat.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re very happy you enjoyed the vegetarian food experience — especially the esparregado! Isabella will be very happy to hear your kind words. We also appreciate the feedback and will keep it in mind as we continue improving the tour. Thank you again for joining us! Foodprint Tours

    Great tour!

Isabella was incredible. It felt like a friend taking us around to her favorite places in the city, and helped us appreciate a lot of foods we may have overlooked otherwise (Pau de Deus, Tomatada, and the cheese board with the monte da vinha cheese were standouts). She also ensured dietary accommodations; my husband is omnivore but I am vegetarian. Wild this was a vegetarian tour, she insured he got to try Piri Piri chicken and codfish along the way, both of which he loved. Our only regret was not doing this sooner during our time in Lisbon!

Response from the operator: We’re thrilled Isabella made the tour feel like exploring Lisbon with a friend while introducing you to special local flavors. We’re also glad she could accommodate both of your dietary preferences so you each enjoyed the experience. Remember to book with Foodprint Tours on your next trip for more delicious local adventures!

    Delightful Isabelle

Great way to experience the city's culture through its food. I would recommend. Isabelle is an amazing guide. She is patient and accommodating. The tour is designed to give visitors different tastes but through a vegetarian lens of course.

Isabelle will be very happy to hear this, she always makes sure everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of. 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal cost?

    +

Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 100% Vegetarian Lisbon Food Tour in Baixa Full Meal start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
