The Perfect taste of Porto and the Duoro Valley

We added this tour at the end of a cruise and it proved to be the best 2 days of the vacation! Our guide Filipe was amazing- polite, efficient, patient, very knowledgable and a lot of fun to travel with! The car was clean and comfortable. The itinerary is busy but interesting and varied and allowed for flexibility. We also were very happy with the accomodation suggested by Rui- The historic "Vincci Ponte de Ferro" hotel perfectly located in Porto. We honestly have not one complaint or negative comment about this tour. We will definitely recommend to others and look into future trips with these providers. A great time in Porto and the Douro Valley- and the perfect weather was much appreciated!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Patricia — this is a wonderful thing to read. Porto and the Douro together make for two very full days, and we're glad the pace, the hotel, and the valley all came together the way they did. The Douro has a quietness to it that tends to surprise people, and it sounds like it did just that. We'd love to welcome you back for another corner of Portugal one day. Rui

    Amazing tour guide and country.

What a beautiful trip perfectly planned by our guide, Rui. Rui provided comfortable and luxurious accommodations while perfectly curating stops between Lisbon and Porto. I highly recommend stopping in Obidos. Rui has a deep love of his country, and his enthusiasm is contagious. He provides facts on anything you ask about, has a warm smile, quick wit and thinks of everything. I highly and unequivocally recommend hiring Rui. He enhanced our first visit to a Portugal in every way.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Catherine — what a kind thing to read. That road between Lisbon and Porto has so much to offer when there's time to let it unfold properly, and Óbidos is one of those places that always justifies the stop. Portugal has a way of getting under your skin on a first visit, and I'm glad it felt that way. Hope it won't be the last time. Rui

    Porto/Douro Private Group Tour

Lovely experience in Porto and Douro! The drive up from Lisbon had a couple of stops in Obidos (charming walled town) and Nazare (surf town) that broke up the day nicely as opposed to sitting on a train. We loved Porto. The half day walking tour really gave us the lay of the land so we could get the most out of our free time there. Douro was lovely and our day included a stop in Amarante on the way up (could have spent more time poking around that quaint town!), two stops for wine tasting and a river boat tour. The wine tastings were different-one a small family run spot paired with an olive oil tasting and one a larger producer. Both lovely. Our drivers did a fantastic job herding our large group (6 adults and 6 kids). They were full of knowledge and expertise that made our very packed trip a lot simpler! Half of our group arrived two days late due to flight cancellations and our guides helped us manage the changing of itinerary, scheduled events, meals, etc. Doing this without the level of personalization given to this private tour would have been difficult. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation!

Response from the operator: Thank you — what a full two days, and what a group to coordinate! Óbidos and Nazaré on the way north, Porto on foot, Amarante, the Douro, two very different wine experiences — that's Portugal done properly. And managing last-minute changes for half the group arriving late is exactly the kind of thing that tests a well-planned trip. We're glad it held together and that everyone made it in the end. Hope the kids are still talking about it. Rui

2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2-Day Private Tour from Lisbon to Porto & Douro Valley start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
