Amazing Blue Mountains Tour with everything included

Booked this trip tour through the hotel concierge. Picked up at 6:50 am to make the most of a full day of adventure. Sean was our driver/guide and did an exceptional job with loads of local knowledge and experience. The company and staff live in the Blue Mountain area and have first hand real life experience of all that goes on. First stop, kangaroos in the wild, which isn't a given but we manged to see a few bouncing about, which was brilliant. Breakfast on the barbie at Glenbrook and then the 3 sisters at Echo point which was misty on arrival but Sean said give it 10 minutes to clear which it did!! Up next the Tram, vehicular and train rides with visitor centre. A few stops of more amazing valleys (showing some of the destruction of the fires) before an enjoyable lunch at a local hotel. Then the excellent Featherdale animal reserve is next were you will get a photo taken with a koala bear and view a multitude of animals and birds native to Australia. Ypu also get to feed and pet Kangaroos, wow. You end your day with a ferry boat ride back to Circular Quay with views of the Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera House and arrive back at around 6.15 pm. Wow, what a totally amazing day with everything included in the price which is unbelievable value for what you receive! So much packed into a totally fantastic day! Thank you Blue Mountain Tours for the trip of a life time!!

Response from the operator: G’day Dave and yes Sean loves showing people around the mountains. He gets the most amazing reviews. Thanks so much for your incredible 5 star review it says a lot about our business and how hard we work. I hope you are keeping safe during the pandemic and if you ever return to Australia we would love to see you again. Graham

Outstanding

Booked this tour on the advice of the hotel concierge. Picked up at 6:40 am for a day full of adventure. Sean was our driver/guide and did an exceptional job. Let me just point out that the owner, Graham, and staff live in the Blue Mountain area and are very knowledgeable and excited about the area. First stop, kangaroos in the wild. Breakfast on the barbie next and then the 3 sisters. Tram, vehicular and train rides are up next then off for an excellent lunch. Featherdale animal reserve is next were you will get a photo taken with a koala bear and view animals and birds native to Australia. You end your day with a ferry boat ride back to Circular Quay and arrive back at around 6pm. Wow, what a great day and everything is included in the price! Sean, thanks for a fantastic day!

Response from the operator: G’day Larry and sorry I haven’t responded earlier it’s been a challenging time here in Australia and equally around the world. You were one of our final tours. I’m glad you loved Seans way of guiding, he is an absolute professional. Reviews like yours are so important for our rebuilding phase. I hope you’re safe and I look forward to meeting you again. Great small group tour of the Blue Mountains sights and attractions.

Overall, the day trip was fantastic. Sean, our guide and bus driver, was excellent in outlining what we would see and do for the day and giving us a great history of the area including the recent wild fires. The weather was perfect and we saw some amazing scenery. Sean managed to get us to each overlook and attraction before the huge herd of tour buses arrived and often we felt there were little crowds and we had plenty of time to wander around. All the attractions were included and gave you a really good one day overview of the Blue Mountains. Lunch was excellent at the Ivanhoe Hotel. The ferry ride back to Circular Quay was a great way to end the day instead of battling traffic all the way back to the downtown area of Sydney. I would definitely give it 5 starts EXCEPT for a few issues: 1. Their website says “breakfast in the bush with kangaroos”. It should have said “drive around in a rural area for a while in hopes of spotting a kangaroo or two and then drive to breakfast at a local park and playground for middle school children” (who came out for recess while we were there). Breakfast was just “okay” (instant coffee and not many places to sit down) 2. We were unfortunate enough to have to sit in the last row of the bus where the seats were lower and more uncomfortable than all others and difficult to get out of.

Response from the operator: G’day Garry and thanks for your online review. I’m happy you considered giving us 5 stars but only for two things. It’s crucial for the world to read about those two things. The website has been changed back in September to reflect ‘breakfast in the Aussie bush’ not Kangaroos due to the pending fires that destroyed 80% of the Blue Mountains. Ultimately the fire pushed into that region and forced the Dingoes out of their habitat and that also displaced and destroyed the Kangaroos. Very sad indeed! We still however visit an area known for wild Kangaroos and we see them most days as we did the day you traveled. We are the only tour group that focuses on the importance of guests seeing wild Kangaroos. Regarding the school children I remember that day well and you mustn’t have heard what I said at the time. Those children were not at recess they were from a country NSW public school and they stopped at the park on their way to visiting Sydney so they could use the toilets. It’s a shame you criticised that part of the day as we were all kids once. In the bush we can only serve instant coffee we can’t drag out a coffee machine. Point 2: sorry you were uncomfortable about sitting in the back of the bus. I wish you had of spoken to us on the day as we only had 21 people on board so that meant there were 3 spare seats on the bus that day. Thanks for your overwhelming positive remarks about Sean and the awesome day you had besides those two points. We work tirelessly to ensure people have the greatest of days with us from story telling to the views. We hope you have made it home safely and thanks for visiting Australia and taking your time to give us an outstanding review. Graham

The Perfect Day

What a fantastic day! We were picked up at 6:45am and didn't get back to the hotel until nearly 12 hours later. Every minute was filled with new experiences and laughter. Our driver, Hayden, took us on my first "Walk about", and we were lucky enough to see kangaroos in the wild. Next was a scrumptious breakfast provided by Graham and Alex at park where wild cockatoos flew all around us. Back on the bus and onto the gondola to view the Blue Mountains and Three Sisters. We then hopped on a cableway, where Hayden, with his wealth of knowledge and story-telling led us on a Blue Mountain hike, and onto the vertical train ride. We lucked out with spectacular views and weather. From the Blue Mountains we drove to the little town nearby where a delicious lunch was provided. No dilly-dallying because our next stop would be Featherdale Wildlife Park where animals roamed all around us. Checking off one for the bucket list, was the chance to actually touch a koala bear and have pictures taken with them. We also hand fed kangaroos and were able to pet them as well. Our last stop was the ferry boat ride back to a drop off by our hotel. This day was well worth the money and you couldn't have picked better hosts then the three named above. Definitely a five star day!

Response from the operator: What an outstanding 5 star review. I remember meeting you over breakfast so a massive thank you for writing such a magnificent review. My son Alec does an incredible job on the BBQ so thanks for making mention of him. He just loves what we do as a family. You will always remember Hayden as he took you on your first walkabout and found wild Kangaroos. I’m so glad you had a magnificent day and we are truly blessed to have shown you our part of the world. Thanks again for your 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review. Safe travels back home. Graham 👍🇦🇺🦘

Blue Mountains, Sydney Australia

We came from California and our Concierge recommended this tour. We had a GREAT time. The bus picked us up on time from our hotel, where we met our driver, Shawn. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and knew all the short cuts around traffic and crowds, because he was from Blue Mountains. Our day was filled with exciting views, a casual walk in the rain forest and great opportunities to explore the Australian outdoors, including the three sisters, a water fall, and a wildlife preserve. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Blue Mountains from a local perspective... PS. The tour also includes a breakfast and lunch. Not bad for the price.

Response from the operator: Thanks Chief 👍🇺🇸⭐️ I am so glad you loved our day tour to the Blue Mountains. Sean puts on an amazing day filled with stories and lots of entertainment. If ever you return we would love to see you again. Chapo

#1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.

How much does #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals cost?

+

Prices start at $1800 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.

Is #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals?

+

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does #1 Private Blue Mountains Tour by authentic story telling locals start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sydney?

+

On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sydney?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sydney?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
