About this experience

The sunrise at Angkor Wat is considered one of the most spectacular and iconic sunrises in the world. Its uniqueness comes from the combination of ancient architecture, natural light, and spiritual atmosphere. The Sun Rises Behind the Temple Unlike many landmarks, the sun rises directly behind Angkor Wat's five lotus-shaped towers during much of the year. As dawn breaks, the temple appears as a dramatic silhouette before gradually glowing in the warm morning light. The Famous Reflection The two lotus ponds in front of the western entrance create one of the world's most recognizable reflections. When the water is still, the temple and colorful sunrise are mirrored perfectly, creating a breathtaking composition for photographers. Ever-Changing Colors Each sunrise is different. The sky may glow with shades of deep blue, purple, pink, orange, red, and gold, making every morning a unique experience.

Awesome experience! Great guide!!

Angkor Wat sunrise tour was amazing. Easy pick up, great service and a good price. My wife and I went with our two young daughters, one of whom was a little ill and wilted in the heat. Our guide was amazing with the kids, keeping them motivated, adjusting the itinerary to suit their ability and even took us home early so we could finish the tour with him the following morning (an unplanned second day, after the kids had a chance to rest). The temples are amazing and the guide was really knowledgeable and keen to share local insights. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience !We will never forget it as the best memories with us. We hope to see you again other time.

Sunrise with the family

We had a lovely trip. We started today at 5 30. Arrived at the temple entrance at 5, 45. I traveled with my wife and two children five and ten years old. My five-year-old, I carried on my shoulders most of the time. it was still warm, but it was a lovely time to see the sunrise rise behind the temple. We had a lovely tour guide, Mr K. He arranged a short abbreviated tour of the temple. He provided a well informed background of the region and history beyond just the temple which was very informative. He was willing to go longer, but we had to keep it short because the kids were starting to get a bit Restless. We return to the hotel around 7, 30. Highly recommend climbing the tour. Kids were not allowed to the climb the tower which was very sharp. The stairs would be very difficult if someone was injured or have trouble walking. If your traveling to Siem Reap the temple is a must

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed experience! We're so glad you enjoyed the trip, services, and felt safe exploring the incredible temples. Your feedback is invaluable for other travelers considering Cambodia as their destination.

1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.

How much does 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise cost?

+

Prices start at $18 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.

Is 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 1 Day Private Tour Angkor Wat Sunrise start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?

+

On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Siem Reap?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
