2 Great Castles!
Our flight was canceled, and Alex picked up our family of 5 from the airport as we landed in Zagreb. He was very accommodating with the kids having just traveled with little sleep. He also was flexible with the itinerary so that we didn't miss a day in Croatia and we were able to see Trakoscan and Varazdin Castle. The kids slept on the drive. Our children really enjoyed the tour of Trakoscan. We had lunch at a lovely restaurant with great food and a view of the castle. We got a ton of history in the car rides with Alex. Varazdin was neat as well and the Christmas village was all decorated and light up and we enjoyed it! Alex even stopped at a grocery store on the way home so that we had some food for the apartment and helped us with the luggage. It was the PERFECT way to start our week in Zagreb!
Response from the operator: Tiffany, It was a pleasure having You and Your family here in Croatia. I am glad we could do the trip, despite the delay in Your flight and I am also extremely happy to read Your positive feedback. Thank You once again for visiting Croatia, and for choosing us as Your local tour operator. Pleasure meeting You :)) Till next time. All the best! Alex

Want a fairy tale day? A day of magic? A little history and science? This tour was all of that and more!
Want a fairy tale day? A day of magic? A little history and science? This tour was all of that and more! Getting around to all these places can be daunting without an amazing guide. Aleksandar from Limitless Balkan custom designed this tour for us, and we could not have been more pleased. His knowledge of Croatia and its rich history is astounding. And his way of sharing it will make you love history even if you think you don’t. Guaranteed! And he is so easy going, genuine, and flexible with an amazing sense of humor. First stop - Staro Selo Museum – It is a well-preserved historical village– one where people still live and work. It is Tito’s birthplace. It is stepping back into the past and shows a simpler time a life. Watch out for the rogue rooster….. Stop #2 & 3 - Veliki Tabor castle and Trakošćan castle. Veliki Tabor castle is a 16th century castle and Trakošćan castle is a 13th century castle. Stuff fairy tales are made of - and some nightmares too! The drive to these castles is through some of the loveliest countryside you will ever see. The castles both provide a place to take some amazing photos. Aleksandar can help you with this – he is an excellent photographer. This was day well spent in wonder and great company. Thank you so much Aleksandar!
Response from the operator: Leslie, We are always happy to have travelers like You on our experiences. Thank You for choosing us to show You Northern part of Croatia and its fairly-tale castles and wineries. Looking forward to Your next visit! Alex

How much does Zagreb to Trakoscan castle, Kumrovec & Veliki Tabor -Private tour cost?

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Zagreb to Trakoscan castle, Kumrovec & Veliki Tabor -Private tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Zagreb?
+
On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zagreb?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zagreb?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
