Terrible!!!

Was absolutely terrible. Was overcharged. Got on ship no one spoke English. They said it was an English cruise and it was 100% Chinese. They charged me for 2 rooms instead of one and refused to refund me. The cruise ship was Yangtze Impressions. It was a complete switch and bait. Viator completely sucked and refused to intervene despite the fact it was booked through them!!! Never use this tour company!

Response from the operator: Dear traveler, We feel sorry to get your feedback. Just to clarify the facts: Two cabins – Our Viator listing has two clear options: half a cabin (shared) or full cabin (private). You were two people and chose full cabin for each person = 2 cabins. English service – The cruise does have an English-speaking guide. You upgraded on board – You paid extra to upgrade to a suite cabin. Refund – Your booking was non-refundable. The cruise sailed and both cabins were available for you. We sent you a cruise voucher stating again that you booked two cabins 22 days before the sailing date. You did not say anything about it. What you didn’t mention – We personally helped you with your more than 10 pieces of luggage throughout the trip, including arranging two private vehicles to Yichang airport. You paid for the transfer, but we provided extra help. We acted correctly based on your booking choices and our policy. Your review describes your own booking mistake. Hopefully you can learn from this, and we also learn from your booking.

Yangtze river cruise

Sailed on the Victoria Anna. Standard cabin booked but on arrival was too small so upgraded to junior suite definitely worth doing. Lovely ship very clean great food and lovely staff. We really enjoyed this part of our Wendy wu tour

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your wonderful feedback about your experience aboard the crusie. We’re delighted to hear that upgrading to the Junior Suite enhanced your comfort and enjoyment—it’s always great to know our guests feel the extra space is worthwhile. We take great pride in maintaining the ship’s cleanliness, delivering delicious food, and providing exceptional service, so your compliments about our lovely staff and the overall experience mean a lot to us.

Shore excursions painfully noisy!

The Victoria Sabrina could be an excellent choice for the Yangtze River cruise. The staff is very responsive and attentive to customer needs. Meals are delicious. The rooms are very nice and quiet. Unfortunately the movies shown in the “theatre” were mostly about bloody wars epics; nothing about the area we were sailing through. Most disappointing were the shore excursions which while interesting lost their appeal because of the incredible cacophony brought by the constant “yelling” of guides attempting to be heard. Many were using portable speakers that made matters worse. The vistas along the way are memorable and worth the trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your recent cruise aboard the Victoria Sabrina. We truly appreciate your kind words about our attentive staff, delicious meals, and the comfort of your accommodations. It’s wonderful to hear that you found the ship itself to be a pleasant and relaxing environment. We also appreciate your constructive comments regarding the onboard entertainment and shore excursions. We regret that the movie selections did not align with your expectations or enhance your experience of the Yangtze River’s beautiful scenery. Your suggestion to include more regionally relevant content is well noted, and we will certainly review our programming to better reflect the journey’s cultural and natural highlights. Regarding the shore excursions, we sincerely apologize for the disruptions caused by the noise levels. We understand how this could detract from the enjoyment of the fascinating sites visited. We will share your feedback with our excursion partners to explore solutions, such as quieter guiding methods or improved audio equipment, to ensure a more serene and immersive experience for our guests. Despite these challenges, we’re delighted that the breathtaking vistas along the Yangtze left a lasting positive impression. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more enjoyable cruise in the future.

Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chongqing.

How much does Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights cost?

+

Prices start at $599 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chongqing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights take?

+

Plan for about 96 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chongqing is not rushed.

Is Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Chongqing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 96-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights?

+

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chongqing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chongqing and add a light layer if any part of the 96-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Yangtze River Cruise from Chongqing to Yichang Downstream in 4 Days 3 Nights start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chongqing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chongqing?

+

On Outty we rank every Chongqing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chongqing Wulong National Park Private Tour, Premium Chongqing Private Tours: Highlights, Night View or Cruise, Chongqing 8D Mountain City Full Day Join In Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chongqing?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chongqing?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
