90 minutes drive from the...
90 minutes drive from the cruise port but worth the journey. Ensure you hook up with the right company since so many jeeps and Dinuka driver may not be holding their board in prominent location.
Response from the operator: Dear Sir or Madam thanks you so much for your feedback, the reason you are facing this problem is that when you disembark from the Hambanthota port and get out of the buses, there is a limited number of people who can come in one bus. Sometimes some people's who have booked with us do not come in the bus you are coming in, they come in another bus. A large number of people come in one ship and not all of them come out of the port at the same time. That is actually the only problem here. We are actually taking enough jeeps there but the only problem is that it takes some time for people to get out of the port. In order to solve that problem, a separate place is currently being prepared for parking vehicles inside. I hope that problem will be solved very soon. Thank you very much for joining us on the safari tour. We really wish you a nice trip.

Truly spectacular scenery...
Truly spectacular scenery on the trip to Yala nature reserve and in the reserve. We were fortunate enough to see elephants, leopard, deer, mongoose, monkeys and various exotic birds. Our guide and driver made a huge effort to make sure our experience was enjoyable.

Yala jeep safari
The actual safari was good but we booked a safari for 9 am and had to wait in a jeep in the heat until 10.10 am before we left the port. The guide told us the others were running late and they had to wait an hour for them but when the other people arrived they informed us that they booked for 10am. So the guide lied to us when he said the others would not be long. Really upset that we were deliberately left to wait that long, especially when the others said they would have been happy to come earlier if they had known. After also being taken advantage of by guide in Mumbai paying for meals and the guides drinks when our meals were meant to be included I will never book with them again

Just do it!
Great experience. Met driver/guide and jeep at the gate the ship shuttle took us to. Jeep is a converted Toyota HiLux truck. Comfortable seats. Fast drive to Park and the driver’s experertise and network meant we saw both Elephants and a Leopard. High recommend this excursion.
