Exceptional Experience
We had an outstanding experience with our Xi’an tour package — everything from start to finish was flawlessly coordinated. The flights, transfers, and full-day itinerary were all perfectly organized, which made what could have been a complicated trip feel incredibly easy and stress-free. Every step was clearly communicated and easy to follow, so we were able to just relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about logistics. The day itself was unforgettable — from seeing the Terracotta Warriors to exploring the city and walking along the ancient city wall, everything was thoughtfully planned and timed. Even with flights involved, the entire experience felt seamless. What really stood out was how effortless it all felt. We always knew where to be, what to expect, and everything ran smoothly and on time. We are so grateful for such a well-executed experience. It truly exceeded our expectations and was one of the highlights of our trip to China. Highly recommend to anyone considering visiting Xi’an forvthe day from Shanghai — this is absolutely the way to do it!

Exceptional Xi'an
We had an absolutely incredible experience on Maggie’s tour of Xi'an — truly one of the highlights of our entire trip to China! Maggie was knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history and culture of Xi’an. Her storytelling brought everything to life, especially at the Terracotta Warriors — she didn’t just explain what we were seeing, she helped us understand the significance behind it all in a way that really stuck with us. She was also incredibly attentive and organized, making the entire day feel seamless and stress-free. From timing to transportation to little personal touches, everything was handled perfectly. We never felt rushed, and she made sure we had time to take it all in, ask questions, and enjoy the experience. What really stood out was how personable she was — it felt less like a tour and more like exploring with a very knowledgeable friend. She even gave us great local tips and made sure we were comfortable throughout the day. If you’re visiting Xi’an, I cannot recommend Maggie enough. This tour exceeded all expectations and left us with unforgettable memories!

Two-day Xi'an and Terra-cotta Warriors Tour
From the first moment I contacted Grace (Chen) to set up this tour from Shanghai, I knew I was dealing with a knowledgeable and efficient person. Within a few hours, through WeChat and e-mail, she had programmed it all--the flight, the hotel, the pick-ups, and a comprehensive two-day tour. Grace's notes were clear, professional and courteous. She creatively accommodated my wishes. At the end of the tour, through the guide, she talked to me on the phone to make sure I was satisfied with the trip. Tim (Wang), the exceptional guide, got in touch with me as soon as I arrived in Xi'an to confirm our next day's schedule and the pick-up time. I learned a great deal from Tim--history of China (not just Xi'an), sociopolitical issues past an present, and religions in China. Having traveled quite a bit himself, Tim made a lot of issues more interesting and relevant by comparing and contrasting. Tim spoke quite good English, more importantly he was knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I enjoyed his company and our long discussions, especially the second day when it stopped raining. All in all it was a worthwhile, pleasant and satisfying trip. It could have easily been a four-day tour. Thank you, Grace and Tim, for the excellent work.
Response from the operator: Dear Galust Mardirussian, We are so grateful that you recommend us with 5 stars! Great to know that you had a pleasant trip in Xian. Our guide Tim was very happy to read that you liked his service and gave him such high praise. Sincerely hope that you can visit China with us again in the future. Our team is always at your service. Warm regards, Grace | China Xian Tour

Trip to Xi'an
Let me start out by saying that I am a travel agent. I booked a 1 day trip to Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors along with the Muslim Quarter and the City Wall for myself and 3 family members that were on a trip to China. We were extremely pleased with our driver and our tour guide Tim. First of all it was very easy to book with Sophia. I explained to her that we wanted go to the above 3 sites and did not w ant to fly a low cost airline. She gave us a price that was very reasonable so we decided to book. We were greeted at our hotel at the exact time stated and transported to the airport. Upon arriving in Xi'an, Tim was waiting for us outside of baggage and we were off. He supplied water and snacks to us on our ride to the Terracotta Warriors describing the different sites to us on our travels. He was extremely knowledgeable. Our lunch was in a beautiful hotel and was delcious. We then traveled to the city wall and Tim explained everything. After that we ended our tour at the Muslim Quarter which was quite a unique experience. We were all so glad that we included this area in our trip to Xi'an. I cannot compliment Xi'an Tours enough for there expertise on this trip. I would not consider anyone else except Xi'an Tours when booking a trip to Xi'an. They are the best- no worries.
Response from the operator: Dear Marilyn Jones, We really appreciate that you recommend us on TripAdvisor! We’re very delighted to know that you and your family had a pleasant trip in Xian with our guide Tim. Your compliment means a lot to us. We will constantly improve ourselves and wish to have further opportunities to provide service for you and your family Sincerely, Sophia | China Xian Tour

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Xian.
How much does Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight cost?
+
Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Xian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight take?
+
Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Xian is not rushed.
Is Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Xian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Xian Terracotta Warrior Private Day Tour from Shanghai via Flight start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Xian?
+
On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Xian?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Xian?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
