Not sure how I feel about this one...

Not sure how I feel about this one. The tour doesn't include any of the admissions, so expect to spend another 60 - 100 for a group of 3. You are basically getting transportation and a guide and for that, you are spending a lot. Well overpriced. You can get super cheap transport out to the terracotta warriors without much effort.

That said, the guide was very good and nice. He helped us purchase our tickets. He did have information about the site and he english was good. He also made suggestions for other things we could do while in Xi'an.

We had a good time. The terracotta warriors themselves were very neat. We then visited the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and treated to a separate tour and private calligraphy demonstration. That was neat. But it's probably twice what it should cost.

So I don't know. We enjoyed it. Paid a bit for it. But I can see where an extra couple 100 may be worth the guide and the lack of hassle. It was hassle-free.

Michaela was a great tour guide. She...

Michaela was a great tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the sites that we visited. We chose to start at the Big Goose Pagoda in Xi'an, followed by the terra cotta warriors and finished with a walk on the city walls. It is important to note that you get nothing except your driver and tour guide with the price of this tour. You will be expected to pay entry fees at all of the sites.

We were taken to an obvious tourist trap restaurant for lunch. We ordered a few items and felt pressured to order more dishes. We wound up paying for our guides lunch she went to the bathroom when the bill arrived and the entire meal cost more than we spent on food for the entire time we were in Xi'an 4 days!. I would have rather eaten street food from the vendors outside, than have the sit down meal in the restaurant

We felt rushed around at both the pagoda and terra cotta warriors. I wanted to stay and take photos at the pagoda, but felt like we were constantly chasing after our guide. When we finished our day at the wall, we said goodbye to our guide and told her that we would walk home. This took her by surprise, as she was expecting to take us to dinner and drop us off at our hotel. Since we didn't want to spend another 50 on dinner, we passed and enjoyed a slow and quiet walk around the city wall.

Most amazing trip. It was much more than we imagined and that was thanks to our guide Jerry , who went beyond his time and made it the most memorable part of our China trip . He suggested the Tang Dynasty show and even helped organise our trip back from the hotel to the airport. love to visit again

Victoria was a very good guide and was mindful of my sore knee. We had an opportunity to see the amazing Terracotta Warrior Museum, Banpo Site Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Enjoyed the day and was very glad to have Victoria there to translate, interpret and provide commentary.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Xian.
How much does Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Xian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Xian is not rushed.
Is Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Xian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Xi'an Highlights Day Tour: Terracotta Warriors and City Sightseeing start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Xian?
+
On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Xian?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Xian?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
