Over rated over priced and not what I imagined or thought id experience
Very overrated very expensive day out Paid 300pd for 2 booked via website Not that much to see or do. Left at 2pm as basically seen everything there was to see which is not much ! Show was not till 7pm and couldn't find anything else to do for 4hrs Was highly disappointed. Expensive 2 ice lollies 300 pesos ! Water caves where ok but they are man-made and your basically swimming or using ropes to go thru a river with nothing to see for almost 1hr so hard going if your not pretty fit! Theres no other shows or dancers limited myan cultural as there was massive law suit with excaret and the myan gov regarding them.using myan culture so all was pulled from excaret so apart from a few animals its all shops restaurants and extra activities you pay more for. The usual overcrowded tiny pools for dolphins sharks turtles and manatee which breaks my heart to see as they just being used for tourists to ride on. They just swim around their tiny pools ! What life is that. Beach area tiny Snorkeling area packed. Bird atrium was nice Rest of park just basically walking around lots of vegetation and palm trees. I would definitely not recommend it as prices are way too high for what you get. They need to offer more for what they charge. Parks and zoos in uk offer much more than excaret did and cost a lot less.
Response from the operator: Dear Visitor, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate that you enjoyed the Aviary and some of the water experiences. We would like to say that Xcaret is a natural and cultural park with more than 50 attractions included in the admission, including underground rivers, the beach and natural pools, the Butterfly Pavilion, Coral Reef Aquarium, Aviary, sea turtles, regional fauna, Children’s World, jungle trails, archaeological sites, the Mexican Folk Art Museum, Hacienda Henequenera, the Mexican cemetery, the Horse Exhibition, Papantla Flyers, Pre-Hispanic Dances and the Xcaret México Espectacular presentation. Regarding the underground rivers, they are natural underground water systems that flow approximately 5 meters below ground through caves and tunnels, with crystalline water originating underground. Fossilized coral formations can also be observed along the route, providing evidence that the area was part of the sea millions of years ago. There are intermediate exits for visitors who prefer not to complete the entire journey. We are sorry that you felt there was little to see beyond the vegetation. Nature is actually one of the central elements of Xcaret. Visitors can encounter regional species such as flamingos, monkeys, deer and bats, while the park also features the Aviary, Butterfly Pavilion, Coral Reef Aquarium, sea turtle areas, and Manatee Lagoon. The Aviary itself provides natural habitats for more than 1,500 Mexican birds and forms part of Xcaret's conservation efforts. We would also like to clarify the cultural offering. In addition to Xcaret México Espectacular, which features more than 300 artists and takes audiences through Mexico's history and different cultural regions, the park offers the Papantla Flyers ceremony, Horse Exhibition, Pre-Hispanic Dances, Mexican Folk Art Museum, archaeological sites, Mexican cemetery, and Hacienda Henequenera, among other cultural experiences. Regarding the creatures, we understand and respect that visitors may have different perspectives on wildlife experiences. However, animal care and conservation are fundamental to Grupo Xcaret's work. Our official conservation programs include initiatives for sea turtles, birds, marine species, and other Mexican wildlife, and our sea turtle program has helped more than 200,000 hatchlings reach the sea. Our conservation division also works with specialists, local communities, and scientific organizations and holds ALPZA accreditation for several conservation programs. Finally, we understand your comments regarding the value of the admission. Xcaret is designed as a full-day experience, and with attractions operating at different times, we recommend planning the visit in advance to make the most of it. The park is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., so arriving early provides considerably more time to explore its different areas before the evening presentation. We genuinely regret that your visit did not correspond to what you had imagined, but we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and explain what Xcaret offers. We hope you might consider visiting us again someday with a different itinerary, or discovering another of Grupo Xcaret's parks and tours, each offering its own approach to Mexico's nature, culture, and adventure. More of a scenic nature park with some perks; quite expensive in my opinion
It was an experience. For me it wasn’t as whoa as others have put it…it is quite expensive. We paid £560 for family of 4. A child over 12 is considered an adult. Apart from that, we also paid for a photo pass which was $120 for us. Also a lot of additional activities come at a cost- which is exorbitant. We did the sea trek which we enjoyed- going to the bottom of a shallow coral reef & u didn’t need to know how to swim- that was about $400 for all of us again. So if u want to do a few experiences u easily spend over £1000 for a standard family of 4. We did enjoy the sea trek, it was a good experience though was expecting to see more animals as the video showed turtles- it was mainly small fishes. You could see jaguars, lots of birds, some butterflies, and eggs hatching. Lots of lovely nature scenery if that is your thing. There was a swimming in the river challenge, some flamingoes. Apart from that nothing else spectacular. There was a theatre show in the evening if you paid for it- it was good - showing culture and history of Mexico but quite long- 2hours and I felt for a family at the end, it was a bit too prolonged and could have been made an hour Didn’t realise the xplor park (with the zip lining/more activities) was different- might have considered that more & it’s a little cheaper
Response from the operator: Dear Visitor, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed account of your visit to Xcaret. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the natural beauty of the park, the Sea Trek experience, the wildlife, and the cultural evening performance. The opportunity to explore underground rivers, admire butterflies and birds, encounter native wildlife, enjoy our natural surroundings, and discover Mexican traditions is part of what makes Xcaret a distinctive destination in the Riviera Maya. We are sorry to learn that the overall value did not meet your expectations. We understand that the cost of admission, optional activities, and photography can be an important consideration when planning a family visit, and we appreciate your perspective regarding these aspects. We are also glad that Sea Trek provided an enjoyable experience, allowing your family to discover marine life from a different perspective. The species visible during aquatic activities can vary depending on natural conditions, so encounters may differ from the imagery used to showcase the experience. Regarding Xcaret México Espectacular, we appreciate your recognition of its quality and your observation about its duration. This production is designed as an extensive celebration of Mexico’s history, traditions, music, and cultural heritage, and we value feedback that helps us understand how it is experienced by families. Thank you again for sharing your impressions. Your comments are valuable as we continue working to offer meaningful experiences while preserving the natural and cultural richness that defines Xcaret. Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 2,104 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show?
+
Around 736 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Xcaret Park Day Trip, transportation and Cultural Night Show start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
