Very nice town and...
Very nice town and spectacular salt cathedral. Guide was unfortunately not up to the level. Heavily overpriced excursion
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the beauty of the city and the spectacular Salt Cathedral. We regret, however, that the service provided by the guide did not meet your expectations. We take your comments very seriously and will work to improve this aspect.

Time saver
Ideal if you have limited time to do two main trips from Bogota in one day (although it is a long day). Bonus was the terracotta house. Excellent tour guide and driver. Lunch was excellent as was the stop for a traditional Colombian breakfast (not included in the price)
Response from the operator: We sincerely appreciate your confidence in us and for allowing us to be part of your trip. We hope we have met your expectations and have added significant value to your experience in our country.

Great town and amazing tour guides
Camila was such a great tour guide, we had so much fun with her, also got a bunch of interesting facts and insights about Villa de Leyva, the Cathedral and Colombia in general. We actually wanted to schedule another tour with her, because she was fantastic. Guillermo, the driver, was fun as well and provided guidance. They both made sure we had a great time and enjoyed every part of the tour as much as possible. Had to do some changes to the schedule, but all of it was worth it. Loved it! Cheers from Panama and Puerto Rico. ✨
Response from the operator: Thank you for having chosen our country as a tourist destination. We hope you had a wonderful trip and a wonderful day, you are always welcome in beautiful Colombia.

Poor value for money
We visited some lovely country towns. However, we had booked a private tour with an English-speaking guide. We ended up in a tiny car with a tall driver who had her seat so far back we were squashed for the entire 13 hour tour. Although the trip started at 6am, we had to ask to stop for breakfast and were not offered water (supposed to be included) until 5.45pm. Lunch was below average. Neither the driver nor the tour guide wore masks while on the tour, nor did they offer to wear them when we did. The tour guide had very little local knowledge. Given the cost of the tour, it was very poor value.
Response from the operator: We are sorry that the experience was not good for you, this tour is very well rated and it is the first time you have told us something like this. We strive every day to make it a great day, although a little long and extensive, at the same time wonderful and unique, for the tourists who visit us,

Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral.: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.
How much does Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. cost?
+
Prices start at $193 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. take?
+
Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.
Is Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral.?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. suitable for kids and families?

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 13-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Wonderful tour of Villa de Leyva, and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral.?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Bogotá?
+
On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria., Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Viejo Bogota Food Tour with 12+ Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bogotá?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bogotá?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
