Daniel was a very good guide. The winery was excellent and very informative. Also in the city so not too much travelling. The lapis Lazuli factory was very interesting too. There was one other couple on the tourvwith us and we enjoyed the morning.

An Authentic Chilean Wine Experience Without Leaving Santiago

This was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon exploring a local vineyard with the added bonus of a stop to see local lapis artisans work their craft. Daniel was a knowledgeable and friendly guide, and the pickup and drop off was as smooth as possible. Cousiño Macul vineyard has a rich history, which its guides enthusiastically share as you tour the production facilities and cellars. You also have the opportunity to wander through the vineyard itself, known as the Jardín. All of this is just a short drive from the center of the city, yet it feels as though it’s part of the countryside. Those who appreciate the skill of stone shaping will also enjoy seeing the lapis production, and you can of course purchase some to take home if you’d like (there was no pressure to buy which I appreciated. All in all, this tour is highly recommended, especially since you can keep the other half of your day open for additional activities.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted to hear that your afternoon at Cousiño Macul, along with the visit to our lapis lazuli workshop, made for such an enjoyable outing. It’s wonderful to know you appreciated both the vineyard’s deep history and the chance to explore the Jardín area—it’s a special place that really does feel far from the city. We’re also glad the lapis artisans’ work added something unique to your day, and we appreciate your note about the no-pressure environment. Thank you as well for your kind words about Daniel and the smooth pick-up and drop-off; we always aim to keep the experience relaxed and seamless. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Chile! Warm regards, The Gems of Chile Team

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+
