Head to the third floor of one of the town’s oldest and most significant heritage buildings, The St Joseph’s orphanage. The 165 year old building now serves as the Visitor Information Centre, Museum and Art Gallery. It is here you will find the Charles Gardner botanical collection, A dedicated room showcasing botanical art by Charles Austin Gardner, a pioneer WA botanist who bequeathed this collection to the Benedictine community at New Norcia.

What better way to finish the day than with a wine tasting experience at a winery that also specializes in growing Australian natives and wildflowers? Siverina Estate is a family owned winery and flower farm, they produce small batch warm climate wines. In addition to grapes, Siverina grows native wildflowers used by local florists which show case on many of their wine labels. Sample a selection of wines including Cara's favourite "The Chittering Chardonnay" which features the yellow Kangaroo paw on its label. Other popular choices include the Cab Sav with the striking scarlet banksia or the Silver Princess Eucalyptus Rosè. Sip on a glass of wine as you watch the billy buttons sway in the wind, count the different Kangaroo paw varieties or photograph the colourful Geraldton Wax.

Fabulous flowers
Fabulous and full day looking at the gorgeous wildflowers of Perth and WA. Great communication both before and during the tour with Cara who was very informative, patient and attentive to all the needs of the group, and loves her area. Highly recommended, especially for visitors to WA. This is an excellent destination and experience.

Tour guide Cara was very knowledgeable about every aspect of this trip. A bucket list moment of seeing WA wildflowers growing organically in nature ticked off. Interesting history on New Norcia. Small bus numbers. Surprise boutique winery stop. Awesome day.

Value for money tour
Cara's approach from booking to end of tour was professional, she demonstrated empathy to all 7 participants and if a question (2 from 7:30 am to 5:pm) was raised that she didn't have an answer for us she told us she didn't know. Her knowledge of the tour provided everyone a clear understanding of the history, culture, ecology and economic aspects of the whole area dating back to the areas first uptake and subsequent development. Cara's approach to all participants was refreshing as she ensured that the tour moved to the slowest person, that is, no one was left behind. Cara demonstrated a clear understanding of engagement with many types of people ensuring everyone was engaged in conversations to their own level, no one was forced to talk nor left out of conversations. Morning tea was well presented by Cara, in a bush setting with many options. Lunch was 3 course and outstanding and was not rushed. The winery was particularly well managed with very clear explanations of all wines with the owners description clear not over the top . Highlight was an encounter with a kangaroo who had a joey in her pouch we didn't engage with her viewing them from the bus thereby not scoring them. Thank you Cara
