Wicklow and Kilkenny whiskey experience
We booked a private group tour with Ireland Whiskey Tours for some friends visiting from Spain, and honestly it was spot on from start to finish. The Wicklow and Kilkenny route was really well put together, with gorgeous scenery, plenty of interesting history along the way, and a proper whiskey tasting thrown in. Gary was a cracking guide. Friendly, clearly knows his stuff, and genuinely passionate about Irish whiskey and the history behind it. He kept the whole day fun for everyone and made sure our Spanish guests felt right at home. A great way to see a bit of Ireland. Can't recommend it enough.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for this fantastic review of your experience with Ireland Whiskey tours!

A great day out!
a Great day out! We booked a one-day tour with Ireland Whiskey Tours for some relatives visiting from abroad, and it turned out to be an amazing day. We were looking for a company to take us from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher, with time to relax together, enjoy a few drinks, have lunch, and take in some great sightseeing—and it delivered on all fronts. The highlight was definitely our stop at the Cliffs of Moher, which were absolutely spectacular. A big thank you to Ireland Whiskey Tours for organising such a perfect day out. Our driver, Gabriel, was fantastic—full of stories, jokes, and great craic throughout the day. 10/10 experience, highly recommended!

Great full day tour on Dublins doorstep
The day with Gary was really a great experience for my wife and me. Gary provided interesting facts and figures about Ireland while he drove us out of Dublin and into the Wicklow Mountains. Amazing scenery just a short distance outside of the city. Gary recommended a beautiful hike/walk to see the lakes and waterfall in Glendalough. We were scheduled to tour the Powerscourt Distillery but as it turned out, the distillery was closed for a film shoot, with actors in period costumes and all. We ended up doing a distillery tour of Pearce Lyons Distillery in the Liberties in Dublin which was a very interesting place given its prior history as St. James church. Gary gave a great overview of the tour with the history of the areas we visited, and little known facts about famous local residents along the journey. Additionally his whiskey knowledge, Irish and otherwise is truly impressive. You can always tell when someone is truly passionate about what they do, and, Gary is that in spades. We highly recommend Irish Whiskey Tours.
Response from the operator: Hi Brad, Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad you and your wife enjoyed the Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough, and the Pearse Lyons Distillery. It means a lot that the history, local stories, and whiskey made the day memorable. I truly appreciate your recommendation of Ireland Whiskey Tours and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in Ireland! Warm regards, Gary

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.
How much does Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour cost?
+
Prices start at $190 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.
Is Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wicklow: Glendalough & Powerscourt Distillery Private WhiskeyTour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+
On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway, Dublin Highlights and Hidden Gems Guided Walking Tour, The Little Museum of Dublin Famous Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
