    Don't go.

Don't hire him with this company. They are simple intermediaries that inflate prices. If you go to the port of Samaná it will cost you less than half. Which is what they do. Listen to me. Lots of web but nothing.

Response from the operator: Hola, gracias por compartir tu opinión.

    If you are planning to...

If you are planning to book this tour, you should know!!! 1. There is horseback riding to the waterfalls and the guide charged us an additional 60USD per person. One couple said they couldn’t afford it and the tour guide was pressuring him to call his bank to get the money. 2. The trail is extremely rough and long. I wouldn’t consider it walkable in the amount of time you spend visiting the Lima waterfalls if you didn’t want to go on horse. 3. The hike down to the waterfalls is also extremely steep. Older people on our tour were not able to go down. 4. The time spent whale watching and time spent at the beach was brief. 5. We had to pay 1USD to use the washroom at the marina. 6. There is NO breakfast. We got a cookie and juice box. 7. The pick up was late and very disorganized. We waited in the lobby then were told after nearly an hour of waiting the pick up is at the resort gate. 8. The tour was beautiful but I would consider another tour company.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, I hope you're doing well. We deeply regret to hear that our tour did not meet your expectations, and we are sincerely sorry for the inconveniences you mentioned. Our customers' satisfaction is our number one priority, and we ensure continuous enhancement to our services based on the feedback we receive. Please accept our heartfelt apologies and rest assured that we will thoroughly advance our procedures for a better and improved experience next time. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. Best Regards,

    Underwhelming on expectations

The pickup time wasn’t accurate and we had to walk to the front gate. Breakfast consisted of a bag of crackers and a juice box. I think they booked too many people because there weren’t enough seats. The boat ride was crazy but good and they found a whale and did everything they could to get some good pictures. The safari ride didn’t have enough seats so some people had to stand but it was a fun drive. The horseback riding was ok, typical for a tour but then someone had an issue with the horses and his shoes supposedly got stolen so we waited about an hour to leave. Lunch was pretty good but everyone was starving and they ran out of food. Drinks consisted of coke and rum and a bottle of water if you were lucky. Our driver was nice but spoke very little English and was pretty quiet the entire time. It was fun but definitely overpriced compared to the others. I thought it would be more personal and supportive with the amount we paid but it felt like the treatment was for the cheapest fair. All the workers (horse, tour guides, boat guides, photographers) all claimed the company didn’t pay them so they all wanted money and they are pretty good at adding pressure and making you feel guilty. I feel with the price I paid ($20/person) I shouldn’t have been asked for so much more money. I’ve taken a lot of tours and this was fun but not worth the price with this group.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I'm truly sorry to hear that some aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations. We take all feedback very seriously and will use your comments as an opportunity to improve our services. Rest assured that your concerns about the breakfast, seating arrangements, and pressure from our staff will be addressed appropriately. We strive to provide our guests with memorable and enjoyable experiences, and I sincerely apologize if we fell short in your case. I appreciate your business and your feedback, and I hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you better in the future. Best regards,

We went there for one day trip from Bávaro- to wathing whales and dolphins. And we really watched one four members family od dolphins and than two adults whales with their baby. They jumped from the water three times!!! It was really very big adventure. Than we spent few hours in the small island Cayo Levantado. There were nice beach with a lot of sunbeds.

Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Romana.

How much does Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall cost?

    +

Prices start at $170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Romana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Romana is not rushed.

Is Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Romana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Romana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Romana and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Romana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in La Romana?

    +

On Outty we rank every La Romana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group: Saona Island Full Day Tour, Hip hop boat party punta cana live Dj & OPEN BAR soca dancehall, Saona Island small group and relax - luxury catamaran. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit La Romana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in La Romana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall?

    +

Included: Carbonated beverages; Bottled water; Lunch; and Breakfast. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 311 listed pickup locations in and around La Romana. Be ready about 60 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Whale Watching with Cayo Levantado & El Limón Waterfall offered in?

    +

It is offered in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
