A lovely sailing experience
A great boat trip! We had a really enjoyable experience with Galatea Sailing. The captain was really friendly and did everything he could to make sure we got to see the dolphins, and in the end we were lucky enough to see them! It was such a lovely moment to share with my three daughters. There were six of us in total: the 4 of us, plus a father and his son. I highly recommend this experience!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review.Hope to see you again next time you visit Tenerife.Take care.Patrick.

Great day out!
We thoroughly enjoyed our day out with Patrick. We saw some gorgeous little whales and a turtle. The lady (I think her name was Maria) was so lovely and helpful. Patrick gave us lots of treats and snacks on board and was very knowledgable with good humour . We would definitely recommend the tour.
Response from the operator: Thanks for your excellent review.Reviews like yours works wonders for a small business like oure.Hope to see you next time you visit Tenerife.Tnks again.Patrick.

Amazing Dolphins and Whale watching experience
Amazing experience. Was so worth the price. Seen loads and loads of dolphins and whales and our sailor Diego was so knowledgeable and told us all about the dolphins and whales and also the history of the surrounding areas. It was the perfect length of time to be out on the ocean. We got to swim in the sea also. There was loads of lovely food, snacks alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. It was just me and my family of 7 and Patrick who collected us at the pier was absolutely lovely and helpful too. Had the best time it was so relaxing and interesting.
Response from the operator: Excellent review. We do our best to make the excursions memorable and keep everybody happy,Dont forget to call us next time youi visit the Island.Take care.Patrick.

Sadly very disappointing
I just want to start off by saying that I understand we did not have the best weather conditions, and I do love that the captain was respectful of the whales, BUT - Overall the entire experience was lacking, and we all left really disappointed. To start with, the welcome was not the friendly, warm experience we were expecting, but so be it... As the trip commenced, the captain gave a few bits of information, nothing massively informative to be honest, and his English wasn't the best so it was rather difficult to understand. Alongside the 5 English people. there was an Italian couple, one of whom spoke Spanish, and the captain spent pretty much the entire trip chatting away with them and leaving us just sat there looking out to sea. It felt very much like he was only interested in them, and we were left twiddling our thumbs. In reality we sailed for an hour or so to where there were many boats moored up whale watching. The captain kept his distance way back, further from any others, which I respect completely, but he pointed at 2 very distant whale fins, as good as said 'there you are, they are stressed, we will leave' and that was that. No looking out for anything else, no pointing out any of the birds or other wildlife. I appreciate if the whales are stressed we should not have gone closer but we were a massive distance away and I simply do not think it would have hurt to stay there 5 minutes to see if we saw another distant fin - I mean it was SO distant, you could barely see it so we were not a bother to them just sitting there for a few minutes. We then sailed on to the bay where we could go swimming, however, as soon as we arrived we were bluntly informed that as the weather was not perfect, there would be no fish. In other words, no point snorkelling and he didn't even offer any equipment. By then I think he had lost us and the other English people on board. We were quite clearly all bored and ready to just get back and try and salvage the day. Basic lunch of crisps and sandwiches, but that wasn't what we went for so that was fine by us. Overall, I feel massively let down after doing my research before we travelled and really expecting a knowledge filled trip with lots of information and hopefully a chance to see something. Really, it was just a 2.5 hour boat trip with a lot of sea to look at, and returning to shore was the best bit.
Response from the operator: Thanks for the review.I,m sorry the trip was not up to your expectations,we try our best but its impossible to please everyone.Patrick.

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.
How much does Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.
Is Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 357 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South?
+
Around 125 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Whale and Dolphin Small Group Sailing from Tenerife South start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tenerife?
+
On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tenerife?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tenerife?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
