Great equipment - but role model in how NOT to operate!
We booked with the on-beach tents that have the banner with yellow at the top and I think blue at the bottom, 2-3 of them around the Iberostar Hotel. On explaining function to my wife, they said nothing about what to do if falling off or overturning, so I instructed her, instead. Said nothing about high speed with waves versus flat surface. Nothing about safety at all. My wife and I split time with my kids for a 30-minute hire. We had one change-out allowed, they said. Ok, so my wife took it out (great equipment, no problems at all), her first time ever, and was afraid for our 8-yo behind her holding on, so returned after just 4 minutes. So I had 26 minutes to go with my older son, and we set out and had a good time. Then at 19-minutes in, a guy came out and said our time was up. I said "no", I had the exact start time when we took a photo of my wife getting on at the beach, and we had 11 minutes left. He argued with me for 2 minutes, then went back to shore. So we continued, then at 26 minutes in, the same thing again, different guy. I had the same argument with him for a couple of minutes, and then headed back to shore 2 minutes early. So missed our last 2 minutes, plus had 2x2=4 minutes arguing out IN THE WATER with them, who obviously had no idea what time we started and were to stop. No apologies from anyone when I got back to the beach, all 3 of them just didn't give a damn, same as the introduction to run the waverunner. Never to repeat, not with that company. The operation was WAY behind the norm in Cancun, which is fairly good.

This was our first time using a jetski so we were a bit nervous, but the people there were so helpful! The jetski itself is easy to navigate and drive. Highly recommended!

Highlight of my trip! They picked us up from the hotel right on time and we drove not to far to the location. The jet skis were a blast, and the most fun I've had in a while. We only brought it for 30 mins but once we got there we had the opportunity to upgrade and add on more minutes. The owner was very friendly and gave us plenty of details. They also had a professional photographer on the trip to provide us with great memories to walk away with.

We had a great time using a WaveRunner at Punta Norte. It was our first time using one, and we had fun. As beginners, we could have used a little more guidance, but we eventually figured it out. The activity was fun, but the space you are allowed to ski in is a little small. Overall, I would recommend this company. We used them for snorkeling and parasailing too and had a really great time. The transportation to and from our hotel was on time and air-conditioned.

Beware!
This was the Waverunner company as shown in the photos--red waverunner banners on the sand on several locations on Cancun main beach, and orange Yamahas. My daughter spoke with a guide called David. David in a friendly manner asked whether she was alone and she said yes. He let her drive the Waverunner with him in the back. When they got out to sea, he started to rub his hands all over her stomach and buttocks. She protested tried to push his hands away, and he said, "You don't have a boyfriend, so what is the problem?" and "This is Mexico". Then he put his hand down inside of the front of her bikini. She said the ride is over and pointed the Waverunner back to the sand. David said he needed to take over, and when he did, he turned back out to sea and whipped the Waverunner quickly to and fro until she fell off.

Why this scores 36
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation take?
+
Plan for about 0.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 36 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 0.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Waverunner in Cancun without Transportation start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
