Pretty fun, double-check what is included before you book

The hiking part was not too strenuous, there were plenty of break times and it was in the shade most of the time. The rental shoe options were not great, the ones they offered me were more like slip on boat shoes with no tread at all. I ended up using my chaco sandals instead even though they didn't cover my toes but it was completely fine. The waterfalls were really close together so once you start sliding/jumping, enjoy it cuz its quick. Rigo was our transportation and we had some confusion with the pickup location. I got an email saying he'd pick us up in the parking lot, but didn't mention which parking lot it was. We asked another tour person in the cruise port parking area and they said if it's booked outside of the cruiseline, it would be in the secondary parking area further away. After we walked over there and didn't find our guide, we had another nice person call Rigo and he was in that first parking area but we never saw him or a sign. Also, we tried booking a tour that included a buffet lunch according to the Viator description, but then after the waterfalls were done, Rigo informed us our trip didn't include any food at all. He was nice, but that was disappointing, especially for the price we paid.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to clarify that we sent two separate emails with instructions about the pickup location, but unfortunately we did not receive any response, so we were not informed where you were waiting. We also want to clarify that food is not included in the waterfalls-only excursion. Lunch is included only when booking the Waterfalls + Zip Line tour, as clearly stated in the description of each excursion. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to improve communication. Best regards, Rigo – PopDominican Travel Tours & Excursions

    Absolute must for Puerto Plata!

I spent quite a bit of time researching options for our family's stay, and landed on two excursions (both Damajagua AND Paradise Island) that were tricky to pull off given the distance, but they helped make it all happen. Communication was great throughout, they were attentive and helpful throughout our entire day together as well. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Do not look elsewhere, this is the best pro tip I can give to any friends visiting the area.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Martin for your kind review! We’re very happy to hear that we could make both Damajagua and Paradise Island work smoothly for your family. Great communication and attentive service are always our priority, and your recommendation truly means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back again in the future! Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Plata.

How much does Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Plata usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata take?

    +

Plan for about 3.7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Plata is not rushed.

Is Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Plata, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Plata can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Plata and add a light layer if any part of the 3.7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Waterfall of damajagua from Amber Cove & Taino bay puerto plata start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Plata within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Puerto Plata?

    +

On Outty we rank every Puerto Plata experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Monkeyland and Zipline Adventure from Puerto Plata, Monkeyland Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata Highlights City Tours from amber cove and Taino bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Puerto Plata?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Puerto Plata?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
