Not the civilized or fast transfer to Hvar that was advertised
Based on the official photo for this activity which shows a smiling couple relaxing on bench seating on a normal boat drinking cocktails, as well as the promise that this is a "water taxi ride" where the "driver meets you in arrivals at Split airport" and provides "complimentary beverages," I paid the high price for what I thought would be a civilized and quick ride to Hvar. Instead, I was told to meet the skipper at a closed restaurant near the dock that was a 20 minute walk with luggage from the airport. The skipper was 20 minutes late (with no prior communication) and his inflatable speedboat needed air. As a result, he took us 9 miles in the opposite direction of Hvar to get his hand pump. Seriously, it was a handpump like the kind you would use to pump up an SUP. Instead of seats, the boat had a long bench that looked like a padded balance beam with handles. The skipper told us to straddle the padded beam and hang on so as to not fall off the boat. The skipper also gave us waterproof jackets with hoods because we would get wet, he said. When we finally had the boat pumped up we headed to Hvar and hung on for dear life on the bumpy and occasionally scary ride for well over an hour. The entire experience took well over 2 hours, not counting the 20 minute delay in arrival. Also, there were no beverages as advertised. You can imagine how miserable and disappointing this was after 18 hours of traveling and no sleep. In short, we would have been so much better off taking a taxi to the ferry and then ferrying to Hvar. The only positive is that the skipper was nice, and the service was willing to move the pick up time to accommodate our delayed flight.

First class transfer. Great communication.
Fantastic experience with our return transfer from the airport direct to our hotel , The Little Green Bay on Hvar. Clean and modern boats, Friendly captains and prompt service. The communication was first class. I also thought the transfer was good value. Would recommend.

Great customer service
I actually did not use Mayer-Charter at all and lost my deposit… But I cannot recommend these people enough. We were supposed to get a ferry from Split to Hvar and our transatlantic flights got all messed up resulting in us arriving at Split late in the evening after hours for a possible transit. Being the busy season I could see them saying “tough luck “ we are all booked. But Angela bent over backwards to arrange a series of taxis late night to get me to a car ferry and from Stadis Gras to back to Hvar at 0300. I have used many travel companies and very rarely have I seen someone who literally was in their full right to take a deposit and walk away do everything they could to help me get to where I needed to go. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars for their help.

Great service!
We used Mayer Charter for private water transfers and it has been great. We had no issues at all and all went super well. Definitely recommend!

Amazing!
We missed the Catamaran initially and were a bit lost with what to do, thankfully I found this wonderful company! Andela was so friendly and polite and really helpful. We got a taxi within an hour of calling and she was so helpful guiding us to where we needed to take the taxi boat. Stefan our driver was really friendly and accommodating, the ride was smooth and quick and he helped us with any information we needed in Hvar. It was a great experience and totally worth it. I will definitely be using this company again and referring anyone I know who needs their services!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.
How much does Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar cost?
+
Prices start at $490 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.
Is Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Water Taxi Ride from Split Airport to Hvar start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Split?
+
On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Split?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Split?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
