Highly recommended
We booked 4 day or half-day trips in advance and were super satisfied with all of them. Great contact, great trips, always on time, and we learned a lot about the country and its people. Highly recommended and would love to do it again :-)

Avoid at all costs. Total scam. What was provided was far from what was promised.
Avoid at all costs. Total scam. I can’t believe any their tours have 5 star reviews. We took their Wasini Dolphin Day Trip. We have been on a ton of tours (including boat+snorkeling) over the last few years but this was the absolute worst by a wide margin (videos below). I regret not using an alternative instead (for about the same price) as suggested by a local friend. There were so many issues with the tour. 1. The tour promised was a personalized one with a max of 20 passengers but we found an overcrowded boat. -- We counted around 50 people on the boat. There wasn’t enough sitting room left so some guests sat on the bow or remained standing. -- The crew let in at least 5 unaccompanied local boys onto the boat. These boys sat on the roof of the boat under the scorching sun. We believe the crew was running a parallel ferry business on the side. 2. Total disregard for safety. -- There weren’t enough life jackets for all on board. -- Some of the transfer boats to/from the big boat at Wasini island had water gushing in which had to be scooped out by a bucket. There were many other transfer boats available but the tour operators were too cheap and opted for the rickety and unsafe boats. A woman with two children was terrified for her family’s safety but the tour operators dismissed her concerns and coerced her to join us in the leaking (and half sinking at this point) transfer boat. -- Two people almost drowned because of the crew’s disorganization. They were supposed to guide weak swimmers but did not. 3. Defective and insufficient snorkeling equipment. -- There weren’t enough snorkeling masks for everyone on board. -- The equipment was disgusting. The crew threw masks into a shopping bag on the floor between uses. They did not provide any single-use mouthpiece replacements so we tried to use hand sanitizer. -- My snorkel was leaky but I could not find a replacement since all had been taken. 4. Wasted 2 hours after arrival at the starting point. -- The crew were super disorganized. We were milling around for about an hour and sat on the boat for an additional hour. The crew was extremely rude when some passengers (including a pregnant lady) asked about departure time. 5. Terrible lunch + no water was provided. -- There was a big old opened bottle with water so, technically, water was provided. But no one on board touched it because we were not confident whether it was safe to drink. -- The lunch provided was in a crowded food stall with insufficient seating. We had to wait for seats to open up. Everything was chaotic and the food was terrible and was served in unsanitary conditions. I saw staff pass along half eaten dishes to other unsuspecting customers. Disgusting. Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wasini Dolphin Day Trip: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Diani Beach.
How much does Wasini Dolphin Day Trip cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Diani Beach usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wasini Dolphin Day Trip take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Diani Beach is not rushed.
Is Wasini Dolphin Day Trip worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Diani Beach, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wasini Dolphin Day Trip?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wasini Dolphin Day Trip suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wasini Dolphin Day Trip?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Diani Beach can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Diani Beach and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wasini Dolphin Day Trip start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Diani Beach within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Diani Beach?
+
On Outty we rank every Diani Beach experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mombasa City Tour, Full Day Dolphin Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini, Full-Day Special Wasini Island Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Diani Beach?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Diani Beach?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
