Not focused in shopping, more the cultural aspects of a city with over 2000 years of existence. If possible include a gastronomic experience, either in terms of the local pastries or of the local cuisine, and who knows some wine to go with that...

Evora and So Much More - Educational, Interesting, Macabre - All Without Crowds!
Maybe it's my morbid interest in ancient places adorned with human bones, nevertheless, once I learned that there was such a place in Portugal, I knew I had to book a tour! I found such a tour with the walled city and highlights of Evora. Our guide, Jaime, contacted me a few days prior to inquire about dietary preferences, etc. We met up on the morning of the tour with no problems whatsoever. Once safely in Jaime's vehicle, he talked a little about the things we would see that day and he also gave us a couple of different choices of things to see along the way. We stopped at a beautiful old monastery now used as a boutique hotel. We said we would be interested in seeing the Almendres Cromlech, or the Stonehenge of Portugal. On the road to the prehistoric site, we saw cork trees, some of which had recently been harvested. Jaime told us many things about the trees, the harvest and methods. We were impressed with the Almendres Cromlech circle, too. It is thought to be even older than Stonehenge. We were soon on our way to Evora where we saw the remaining portions of the wall, enjoyed a fabulous and UNCROWDED walk, and many lovely things including the requisite churches. Jaime suggested a restaurant he was familiar with for lunch. One of the best meals we had while in Portugal - we ordered tapas style and he suggested a few regional favorites. Everything was polished off with no leftovers! Gee, that melted cheese dish was just delicious! Before heading back to Lisbon we stopped to see the bone chapel, the reason for booking the tour in the first place. It did not disappoint! Though smaller than others I have seen, it's quite a spectacle. Highly recommended. A full day was spent, and since this was our first tour in Portugal, it set a very high standard for those to come. A fulfilling and comprehensive trip to Evora! A praiseworthy experience!

Highly recommend!!
Jamie was an incredibly knowledgeable, flexible and personable guide. He and my husband spent the day with him and visited Cromelequedos Almeda (Portuguese Stonehenge) and Evora’s walled city. He tailored the day to our interests and shared so many of his personal insights about his own life & experiences growing up in Portugal. We learned more in one day than the whole week prior! Thankyou Jamie for making our time in your beautiful country so memorable!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words, sorry I took some time too reply, hope you had an excellent time up north as well and visited some of the locations I recommended. Hopefully you´ll be returning soon so we can have more daytrips together. Was a pleasure meeting like minded souls!! Best. Jaime

An exceptional experience
This trip was amazing. Jaime was so knowledgeable and tailored it to exactly what I wanted to see. He was very tuned in to my needs and a great communicator. We explored tile making, rug making, cork products, and had an amazing lunch. The city of evora is magical and should not be missed
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review: I hope the rest of your trip in great company was even better than our time together. Hopefully we three can tour together in a near future date. Best regards

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Walled City of Évora’s Highlights & Traditions Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
