Church of Our Lady - Copenhagen Cathedral
The Copenhagen Cathedral, today designed by the architect C.F. Hansen in Neo-Classicist style. The foundation stone was laid by King Frederik VI in 1817, and the solemn consecration took place on Whitsunday 1829. This site served a church since Bishop Absalon, the founder of Copenhagen, had a small chapel built on the premises. The original church was erected at the highest point in the town around 1200. The church has seen many important events throughout Danish history. This is where King Valdemar Atterdag gave away his nine-year old daughter Margrethe - later Queen Margrethe I - in marriage in 1363, in 1855 the funeral of Søren Kierkegaard, and in 2004, Crown Prince Frederik and Australian Mary Donaldson were married here. Inside we have Thorvaldsen's sculptures The statues of Christ and the twelve apostles. Above the altar, Christ extends his arms in a welcoming gesture, while the apostles watch from the sides of the nave. Judas has been replaced by Paul. Battle of Copenhagen In 1807, the cathedral was hit by a incendiary rocket during the British bombardment led by Admiral James Gambier and General Lord Cathcart. The bombardment resulted in the cathedral's burning down.

Rude staff
The tour was cancelled due to lack of people on it. I had this tour booked for me as a gift. The only reschedule date they were able to offer was 10 days later when I would no longer be in the country. When I requested a refund the voucher company and Scandinavian Guides sent me in circles blaming each other. Scandinavian Guides Luis Sosa was extremely rude and unprofessional during the process.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that this shared walking tour could not operate on your selected date due to the minimum participant requirement not being reached. Please note that this condition was communicated in advance already at the time of reservation, and alternative options were offered, including rescheduling or operating the activity privately with a supplementary amount. As your booking had been issued through a third-party voucher/Viator booking channel, the refund procedure was subject to their payment processing system, which unfortunately created confusion during the cancellation stage. We regret that our communication caused frustration, and we apologize if any of our messages were perceived as impolite, as this was not our intention. Your reservation was ultimately cancelled from our side so the refund process could proceed accordingly. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and wish you all the best. Great Experience
I was a part of a very large group from the United States touring both Copenhagen and Malmo, Sweden. Scandinavian Guides was responsible for both tours. They did a wonderful job with our group. Luis was the first to welcome us at the airport and also the tour guide for Copenhagen. He did a wonderful job accommodating everyone. He had a lot of historical knowledge, did a great job answering questions, showing points of interests, was professional and personable, and worked very hard to make sure everyone was well taken care of even going the extra mile!! Thank you so much for being so helpful! His tour also gave me the confidence to go sightseeing by myself the following day! We had a great experience in Malmo with another one of the guides as well. Thank you for making the experience in Scandinavia a positive one!
Response from the operator: Dear Guest Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and generous review. It was truly a pleasure welcoming your group to Copenhagen, and we are delighted to hear that your experiences in both Copenhagen and Malmö were so positive. I sincerely appreciate your kind words regarding the Copenhagen tour and the airport welcome. Knowing that the tour not only helped you enjoy the city but also gave you the confidence to continue sightseeing on your own the following day means a great deal to us. That is exactly the type of experience we aim to create for our guests. We are also very happy to hear that your time in Malmö with one of our other guides met the same high standard. Providing consistent, professional, and engaging guiding services across destinations is a key part of what we do at ScandinavianGuides. Thanks to Stuart and you again for trusting us with your visit and for sharing your experience with other travelers. We truly hope to welcome you back to Scandinavia in the future. Warm regards, Luis ScandinavianGuides

Horrible, unprofessional
Luis (owner) was beyond condescending and his humor misogynistic, homophobic and utterly offensive. Our tour group "Women Traveling Together" was guided by Luis the owner in a half day tour of Copenhagen. Luis you're not funny. Comments about Cu&&$nts, gay people and your wife's role in the kitchen were offensive and unprofessional. And for goodness sakes..on and on about your family filling time when you knew less about the city architecture we walked thru. At the castle, you were confronted by castle staff and apparently had no business conducting that tour. Far from a local... born in Venezuela your knowledge of Denmark was limited. Clean up your act..can't believe these reviews...what a clown.

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Copenhagen.
How much does walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours cost?
+
Prices start at $88 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Copenhagen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Copenhagen is not rushed.
Is walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Copenhagen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Copenhagen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Copenhagen and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does walking tour - Copenhagen and Christiansborg 3 hours start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Copenhagen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Copenhagen?
+
On Outty we rank every Copenhagen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Day Trip around Copenhagen, Copenhagen Walking Tour: Politically Incorrect Intro, Copenhagen Highlights 3 Hour Bike Tour with local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Copenhagen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Copenhagen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
