What you get

    About this experience

Stroll down the local neighborhoods of Chora, Naxos main town, and learn about local life. In the company of your guide, you’ll make the rounds of the local produce market the way the Naxos people do. Pick and choose your own local, fresh, seasonal produce, bursting with fragrances, colors, and flavor. You’ll be putting your vegetables to good use during the cooking course that will follow. Your route will take you to the cobblestone maze-like alleys of the Chora castle. Visit local shops and sample different kinds of cheeses and liqueurs. Your walk will end at a small traditional taverna where you’ll meet our talented chef. She will show you step by step, how to make traditional appetizers and the renowned Greek salad. Next, comes the greatest part of the tour. We’ll all be sitting down to share the dishes you made yourself, along with another Greek traditional dish prepared by our chef. We’ll raise our glasses, toast each other, and enjoy a day spent in enjoying and experiencing.

    Great Tour with Guide Hector

Amazing tour and fabulous guide! Our family of 4 with 2 teen girls really enjoyed our day exploring Naxos with our guide Hector. Hector was laid back and super approachable and is a wealth of knowledge! He provided a lot of info without overwhelming us and also snapped some pics throughout the day that were later shared with us. The cooking class was a lot of fun and the end results were delicious! The Greek “grandmother” who led the class was very kind. The tour group provides you with the recipes of the dishes prepared as well as a few Greek traditional recipes. I communicated with Anastasia via email in the main office to ensure my daughter’s food allergies could be accommodated and she was so helpful in assuring us that my daughter could fully participate. If you book, I’d strongly suggest to request Hector. He was an excellent guide.

    We really enjoyed this...

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Hector, gave us a glimpse of local life, the history of the island, and the wonderful food. He was fun, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and interesting. We shopped for local vegetables, tasted local cheeses, walked through the old town, and finished with a fun cooking class and a delicious lunch. We would highly recommend this tour!

    This cooking class was...

This cooking class was super fun! We got a walking tour of the less touristic parts of the town and got to buy the veggies from a local shop. We made a delicious meal with a local Yiayia which was so cool and memorable!

    Fun and delicious

A wonderful experience! We learned a lot about the history and culture of Naxos and the cooking class was fun. I have reproduced the Tsatziki at home:-). The food was delicious as well. I highly recommend booking this activity

Good way to spend 1/2 day

Very enjoyable walking tour of Naxos town that ends in a cooking class. Hector was a good guide and it was a great way to spend a morning and to orient yourself to town. Suggestions for improvement: I think the walking tour portion could be shortened to 90 mins without losing any of the experience. I also think the market visit could be skipped; I expected it to be a market but was just a vegetable store, so didn’t really add anything to the tour.

Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naxos.

How much does Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit cost?

    +

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naxos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naxos is not rushed.

Is Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 86 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 146 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naxos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit?

    +

Around 51 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naxos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naxos and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Walking Tour and Cooking Class on Naxos with Local Market Visit start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naxos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naxos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naxos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Naxos:Half-day cooking class at Basiliko Farm, Naxos Perivoli Farm Experience & Wood-fire Cooking Class, Naxos Kayak Tour to Rina Cave with Snorkeling and Homemade lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naxos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naxos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
