Two life guarded beaches, river's, kayaking, hiking, shoping, tatoos, boating, farmers markets, yoga, massage, spas, music and much much more. Tons of activities for before or after our food tour. I would suggest possibly matching a food tour with a morning surf lesson, Napali boat ride, hike, sunset on the beach, ukulele lesson, possibly all followed by live music at Tahiti Nui. An easy trick to keeping the fun going, our many stops will satisfy all your food cravings, while you explore the spots. The food tour will be a fun part of an unforgettable day! Tour guide, Nalu, is a knowledgeable local whose heart for food and culture emanates through specialty selections and a respect for the people and land. An experience to be remembered beyond food!

    Awesome Local Experience

Must-try for foodies!!! We had a fantastic time! Max was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our preferences. The food was all authentic, delicious, and a great value! It was well-paced and very enjoyable.

    Delicious options!

The variety of offerings and quantity of food was great. Our guide would sometimes talk/share info while walking down the busy streets making it difficult for everyone to hear. There was also some waiting around time for vendors to prepare the foods resulting in the tour running long. Luckily we were not in a hurry.

    Pick another tour

Disappointing tour over all. The good - Friendly host, good information sharing, historical context etc. The bad - we only really had one stop where we got food and that was the very first restaurant… after that we got offered a meager offerings across 2 other locations. The host seemed not to have planned stops at the various places and since many places were busy we just walked by many vendors and did nothing. In the end, we really didn’t do that much food tasing at all. And we spent quite a bit on this for a large group. We have been on many food all over and all of them have offered much more than this tour. I would avoid.

Response from the operator: Very interesting to hear this; if you read through our earlier reviews our # 1 complaint was too much food & that we served more than most evey other food tour our guests had been on. Please call our offices to elaborate if this is truly how you had felt about our tour, +1(808)464-7759. Your first tasting that day was a plate lunch, a full lunch portion on its own, if we served that amount at every stop we have people complaining about wasting food & serving too much. Did this change what you then expected from the other vendors maybe??? The idea is too have a fulfilling lunch with all our towns best treats. If an "all you can eat" is what you are looking for, like bottomless shrimp, please book the buffet or Luau ... what we do is a personalized lunch with a local guide in a intimate sized group, and always make sure our guests are full and satisfied before we say goodbye. Again please call us & let us know, especially if anyone left hungry after the tour. Thank you for leaving us a review.

Horrific! Don’t go in this tour!

1st off, we waited over a hour to receive a puny donut ! ( 1 person operation ) but Max , our tour guide failed to tell us how long we’d have to wait - knowing that there were several orders ahead of us! We had to buy our own water! Then he walked at a fast clip- leaving us several blocks behind. I asked him to slow down but he failed to change his pace. We next received a poy, rice & smoked pork dish - horrible. Then we got a hot chili chicken with rice & macaroni salad . The chicken was very good . Then 2 chocolates. Costing : $ 278!!! Plus we paid $260 to drive us to this revolting tour! We could have gone to the best restaurant in town and still not paid this exorbitant amount !

Response from the operator: Thank you Karen_K! We truly appreciate you taking time to leave us a review. Wonder what had happened to make this day so different from a typical run. Sounded like this tour had other guests showing up late, along with other unforeseen complications. We'd love to see you join our Honolulu walking food tour and get to hear your comparison!

Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.

How much does Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei cost?

    +

Prices start at $136 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.

Is Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 298 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei?

    +

Around 104 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Walking Food Tour Exploring Hanalei start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kauai?

    +

Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kauai?

    +

April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kauai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
