Beautiful scenery and...
Beautiful scenery and friendly guide! Would be nice if they set up the kayaks on the launch ramp before the paddle. Lindsey was a great guide.
Response from the operator: Aloha Karen, Lindsey just celebrated a birthday; thought I would share. We can only hope that Lindsey continues to spend her birthday with all of us an continues gifting us with great guiding. Will share your you kind words with Lindsey, A hui hou, Micco Regarding setting up kayaks on ramp would be nice but we have to observe specific ramp times

Relaxing and picturesque
A fun a relaxing paddle with Harrison who was a great host. Harrison sure knows Kauai and we enjoyed learning about the history and lore of Hawaii.
Response from the operator: Aloha Randy, Your guide Harrison is a paddling/hiking encyclopedia and knows how to combine fun, safety and leaving you “thoughtful” with interesting information. Keep learning. Thanks for the review. A hui hou, Micco

Good!
very nice guide and a lot of fun! would recommend to go on sunny weather. Trip was a bit too short, we expected to see some waterfalls but all in very nice.
Response from the operator: Aloha Niklas, On rainy days, out of safety when we are on a flood warning, the shorter Wailua River paddle as a consolation prize. Hope to see you back on a sunny day and away we will go to the falls. A hui hou, Micco

Amazing Kauai Kayak Adventure
Absolutely fun, beautiful and exciting way to explore the natural wonders of Kauai expertly guided by Jeffrey. This 4 mile light workout takes you along the Wailua River into areas of Kauai you would never see unless you were on this kayak adventure. Highly recommend this to anyone seeking a great way to add to their understanding and enjoyment of this unique place on earth.
Response from the operator: Aloha Leonar, We offer the "River Only" option either when the rains puts us on flood warning and we cancel our falls tour, or as a tour in itself at the end of the day during our shorter winter days. Glad you enjoyed Jeffrey and thanks for taking the time to share your experience with all of us. Stay well and keep exploring those unique and beautiful place on this beautiful earth. A hui hour Micco

Beautiful river scenery,...
Beautiful river scenery, though no bird, turtle or other wildlife sightings. Loved our guide, Jeffrey.
Response from the operator: Aloha Debbie, Thanks for the 3 dots. We see more turtles, i.e. green sea turtles on our Hanalei Blue Lagoon and/or summer Na Pali or winter Po'ipu tours. Fresh water turtles are not native to Hawaii. We do have birds such as the Cattle egret, coot, gallinules and a few others that are usually seeing us even when we don't. Will let Jeffrey know that you enjoyed him in spite of your wildlife disappointment. A hui hou, Micco

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wailua River Paddle: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.
How much does Wailua River Paddle cost?
+
Prices start at $121 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wailua River Paddle take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.
Is Wailua River Paddle worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 73 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wailua River Paddle?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wailua River Paddle suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wailua River Paddle?
+
Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wailua River Paddle start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kauai?
+
Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kauai?
+
April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kauai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
