About this experience
Visiting our farm means exploring a historical reality of the Tuscan Maremma, a traditional family farm - which today has been able to transform itself into a 4.0 company based on the concept of circular economy. A journey between tradition and innovation. The route of the guided tour shows the entire sustainable supply chain of the company: from agriculture for the production of buffalo feed to cattle breeding in large outdoor fenced areas; from the production of milk to its transformation into cheese in the company dairy; from the use of agricultural waste to produce renewable energy in a biogas plant to reuse the process residue as an organic fertilizer.

What you'll see and do
La Maremmana - Caseificio Inno al Sole
The guided tour includes the dairy, the buffalo breeding and the biogas plant, with a tasting of buffalo cheeses at the end of the visit. Our agronomist will welcome you to the company and accompany you along the way. The first stop is a visit to the Dairy where guests can watch the dairy production. The cheese processing is visible from the store, which is separated from the laboratory by a glass window; for the little ones there is the possibility of watching television that shows live images of the laboratory. Then we will continue on foot, between the dairy and the stable, where it will be possible to get close to the animals and in spring and summer see the newborn calves. Meanwhile, technical explanations will be given on the breeding of livestock and on the animals themselves. The last stop on the route is the biogas plant. Once the outdoor visit is over, the group will return to the dairy's point of sale to end the journey with a tasting of the products that were made with buffalo milk exclusively produced by the company, accompanied by salami and wines from other local companies. The initiative aims to bring everyone closer to the world of cattle breeding and dairy production in a traditional and at the same time innovative company, which respects the cycles of nature and focuses on animal welfare and on the quality of the finished product.

inspiring tour.
Super interesting tour with sympathetic guide. The guide spoke English (and Esperanto) very well. And knew a lot about the company and the history of the region. It was more dialogue than a spin-off story. The tasting was also top notch. We had a great time.

Maremma and Italian excellence
Let's hang on to these local realities that allow quality food at prices below large retailers. In addition to mozzarella from 100,200,500gr up to 3 kg, braid up to 5 kg and veal and buffalo meat on reservation. Buffalo ricotta is worth trying.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siena.
How much does Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siena is not rushed.
Is Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siena and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Visit to the Bufale and Dairy farm with cheese tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Siena?
+
On Outty we rank every Siena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Brunello di Montalcino Wine-Tasting Trip from Siena, Skip the Line: Siena Duomo and City Walking Tour, Siena: A Wine Tour and Tasting Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Siena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Siena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
