About this experience
If you fancy getting out of the busy city and seeing some of the lovely harbour villages along the coast, then this is the tour for you! This tour has a bit of everything - village life, cliff top views, markets, fish and chips, manicured gardens, butterfly houses and even medieval history. During this tour we will take in the villages of Howth and Malahide, and will see how they have changed over the years as well as what has remained unchanged. One of my favourite spots that I'll take you to is Malahide Castle. I have many fond memories of playing football on the grounds of the castle lands as the owners of this estate where very open to visitors. I'm sure not many people except royalty can say they got to play football around a castle! For more anecdotes and a taste of life outside the city, look no further than this tour!

Special addition to your Ireland visit
We had an excellent morning with Gerry in Howth. He is knowledgable and friendly and makes you feel comfortable even in a small group. He was communicative about our meeting point and we appreciated his organization of our morning without requiring input. We felt safe driving with Gerry and highly recommend booking him to make your trip unique and special. Our half day trip to Howth included a beautiful and leisurely downhill hike with panoramic ocean views, walking around the town, seeing Malahide castle, and Phoenix Gardens.

Malahide and Howth!
Gerry is a great tour guide. He is experienced, knowledgeable and, as we soon discovered, quite a personable chap. He's a safe driver. His van is comfortable and in great mechanical condition. He's also flexible when it came to our tour - we asked if he'd make a stop that was not on our tour itinerary and he was all for it. He showed up right on time and was prepared to provide us with a great tour. He's not the cheapest, nor is he the most expensive but his tour was competitively priced and provided our group with a memorable tour and some good craic to boot! PLEASE BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE! We highly recommend Gerry Murphy's tour services - 5 stars. Thanks Gerry!
Response from the operator: Hi thanks for the review I’m glad you enjoyed your tour. In regards the prices unfortunately rates have soared but I’m staying competitive and I decided not to put my prices up.

Pat is the greatest!!
Pat was incredible. He personalized the tour for my mom and I. She has mobility issues but he too great care with every step of the way. He has so much knowledge and takes pride in what he does. It was a truly special day.
Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing our tour and yes Pat is one of my top guides I was unfortunately in Paris for the weekend so I left Pat in charge and I can rely on him to give a great tour when I’m away. I try to be there as much as I can.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dublin.
How much does VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights cost?
+
Prices start at $950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dublin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.
Is VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does VIP Tour to Malahide Castle & Howth with Coastal Highlights start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dublin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dublin?
+
On Outty we rank every Dublin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dublin to Cliffs of Moher, including Wild Atlantic Way and Galway, Dublin Highlights and Hidden Gems Guided Walking Tour, The Little Museum of Dublin Famous Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dublin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dublin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
