Highly recommend Mario and 3 Socks! A carriage ride through Central Park that’s lot’s of fun!
Our group was 4 women celebrating my sister’s birthday. We had a wonderful time! Perfect weather and a fun driver (Mario). The horse, 3 Socks, was very sweet. Mario was on time, had great historical info about NYC and Central Park and stopped to take good pics. The champagne was in red solo cups but we enjoyed the whole experience— red solo cups and all. Ask for Mario! He’s a great driver!

Very Disappointing
Very Disappointing Experience Despite Refund- PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!! We had booked a horse and carriage ride through Central Park with Top Hat to celebrate my 70th birthday with my sons, which was meant to be a special and memorable occasion. Unfortunately, the carriage never showed up for our scheduled booking at the pre arranged Tripadvisor specified meeting location (we were there early and waited 1hr). PLEASE BE AWARE- there is no company rep or Top Hat desk / physical meeting point and nobody at that location knew anything about Top Hat as a company. In the end I asked for a refund and while I do appreciate that a full refund was given promptly, it didn’t make up for the disappointment of the experience itself. This was a one-time celebration, and having it fall through with no ride was extremely upsetting. In fairness, Top Hat offered another ride post refund request but timings didn’t work given our itinerary (and tbh no guarantee that it wouldn’t just happen again). I understand that issues can happen, but better communication / contingency planning and an official meeting location/check in point with allocated rep would have gone a long way(this was supposed to be a VIP ride after all and for the price I paid for the experience, I would have expected VIP service). Sadly, the missed experience overshadowed what should have been a joyful milestone. In summary, and fair warning to all- be VERY careful and think very hard before pre booking with Top Hat!! With all aforementioned issues, I would hate for your trip to be tainted like my experience. If you still want to take a horse and carriage ride, there are plenty of cash only vendors ready to take your money and provide that trip (it just may not live up to that dainty and picturesque VIP experience you have in your mind or that I hoped Top Hat would have provided).
Response from the operator: Dear Karen McCorrie, We are so sorry to hear your 70th birthday celebration in Central Park didn't go as planned with Top Hat NY. We apologize for the mix-up with the reservation time - it seems there was confusion between 5:15pm and 7:15pm. We understand how disappointing it is to miss an experience you were looking forward to, especially on a special occasion like a 70th birthday. The lack of a clear meeting point and communication didn't meet our standards, and for that, we apologize. We'd like to make it right with a complimentary horse carriage ride on us, for you and your family. Please DM us or call us directly to schedule it at a time that works for you. Sincerely, Top Hat NY Team

LOVED!!! An absolute MUST-DO on your trip to NYC!
This was part of our 20th wedding anniversary trip to NYC, and Mario made the champagne horse-drawn carriage BEYOND MEMORABLE! :-D He was very charismatic and has so much knowledge about the park and the surrounding neighborhoods. He also has a knack for taking great photos - and knows the BEST spots! The champagne was delightful, too! The hubs and I would book this tour again (even if we weren't celebrating a special occasion...it was that magnificent)!

Warm champagne and red solo cups are not worth the upgraded carriage tour.
We paid for the champagne tour because 3 years ago we did the same tour and had a magical experience in Cebtral Park following our anniversary dinner. This year, was disappointing. The attention to detail was lacking. We were shown a bottle of warm champagne and two red solo cups on the seat in front of us. The first time the driver was super attentive, opened the champagne, poured it into plastic champagne cups, and placed the bottle in an ice bucket. We ended up not opening the champagne because warm champagne is not worth drinking. We ended up taking the champagne home, but I could have purchased a bottle of champagne for much less on my own to take home. The idea was to enjoy it on the tour. I will think twice before I book another carriage tour in Central Park.

Very romantic
Very nice scenery and great driver. He was very accommodating because we were late to the pick up point. Very resourceful for us.

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New York.
How much does VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line cost?
+
Prices start at $440 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New York usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line take?
+
Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New York is not rushed.
Is VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New York, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New York can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New York and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does VIP Central Park Champagne Tour with Photos(50 min)~Skip the line start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New York within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New York?
+
New York has more bookable experiences than any other city on Outty, and the quality spread is brutal. Observation decks are commoditised, so we score them on timed-entry reliability and sunset slots. Food tours and borough walks are where the ranking really separates operators, and the top scores in the city all come from small-group guides. On Outty we rank every New York experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Grand Canyon VIP Helicopter Tour, Half-Day Bus Tour of NYC Top Highlights, NYC Bus Tour of Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens: Art, Food & Sports. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New York?
+
September to early November, and late April through June. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New York?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
