An unforgettable, yet demanding experience!!

My experience at Vinicunca Mountain was absolutely amazing. The scenery is breathtaking, it looks like you are walking another planet, with those mountains of colors so vibrant that they cannot be described in words. The hike to the top was not easy, especially for the height, as it is more than 5000 meters above sea level. As I was going alone, I had to be very attentive to my well-being, but it was totally worth it. The weather is changing and it can be quite cold, so I was well prepared with proper clothes and water. The trail is challenging, especially in the steepest parts, but the views throughout the tour make every step worthwhile. Although I was a little tired in some stretches, the feeling of being in such a unique place made up for everything. I took this tour departing from Cusco, which included transportation, guide, breakfast and lunch. The guide was very professional and made sure the whole group was comfortable. I, as a lone traveler, felt quite well accompanied and safe at all times. If you’re thinking about taking this trip, be prepared for a physical challenge, but if you like epic scenery and adventure, you can’t miss it. For me, it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Private Rainbow Mountain tour with excellent guide

We had a fantastic day climbing Rainbow Mountain, part of it on horseback, with our guide Wilbert. We got a text the day before with plenty of notice confirming the trip details and were picked up promptly from our hotel. Wilbert was a fantastic guide, providing us with lots of interesting information about the local area and Peru in general. The altitude was affecting our ability to climb quickly and Wilbert was very accommodating of our slow pace, took some amazing pictures and had a great rapport with the locals. Our driver, Walter, was also excellent, driving much more carefully than most other Peruvian road users, and between the two we were very well looked after.

One more Wonder in the World!

I am from Ecuador, and at the incident I was doubtful to travel to 7 colors for the season but then encouraged me, although the sky was not entirely clear having a good travel agent as peruvipviajes makes you enjoy the most of the hike. One of the best landscapes I have seen in my travels, it is very cold in these times, but a good equipment solves everything although I would not recommend it to people who pass the 60 years, especially in this time, but if for people with a good physicist and above all scenic walks and landscapes, I will return the next year in the best season and it will be with the same agency, thanks Peruvipviajes!

The great Challenge, Vinicunca!

The ascent was not easy, but neither was it impossible. I had a good breakfast, that helped me a lot. Additional agency offered me a coca leaf matte so I could breathe much better. We arrived when people were still on the ascent so I could better enjoy the tranquility of the mountain although there were still many people. The journey is full of green landscapes and also many South American animals. All very enjoyable to expel stress and breathe fresh air. The agency treated me very well, I liked the explanations of my guide Wilber. Greetings and my recommendations always.

Excursion to Vinicunca

A slightly demanding excursion, but with a good meal and a good coca mate everything went exceptional. The scenery was amazing, the weather beautiful and the panorama with exceptional views. Our Guide was excellent, he took me to my pace and that was nice. I arrived early so I had an amazing view. 10 out of 10 recommend it.

Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip cost?

+

Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip take?

+

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 14-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip?

+

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain in one day, private with Peru Vip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
