    Our tour of Schönbrunn...

Our tour of Schönbrunn Palace was excellent. Our guide, Mario, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Also, the service was able to find a guide for us on very short notice.

    Gardens tour

This tour was misrepresented in its explanation. It states skip the line tour of palace and gardens. This did not include a paid gardens tour at all so there was no line to skip!!!! It also did not include the palace at all. Which is how it reads in the description. As far as the palace part it was in the fine print so my error. But still total rip off!! As there was no cost of any ticket involved. That said our tour guide Aida was Lovely and gave us a wonderful tour and was very knowledgeable of the history. She was also nice enough to give us a little more time and information as she was aware of the confusion with the purchase through the app. So NO TICKETS INVOLVED!! For the one hour tour buyer beware. I did request the company upgrade us to the two hour tour which includes the palace and we would pay the difference which was not much. And they would not accommodate that request. Based on that I think they should have refunded us.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear the experience did not meet your expectations. The tour description specifies that this is a guided walking tour of the palace gardens and exterior grounds, without interior palace admission. While this is outlined in the tour details, we understand how this may have caused confusion, and we appreciate your kind words about Aida’s guiding. We will take your comments into account to help improve the clarity of our listing.

    Fun and informative!

We had a great guide - Ute. She was professional, knowledgeable and fun! We enjoyed the tour of the palace and learned about both the royalty that lived there and the artwork throughout the palace. Highly recommend Ute.

Beware - Rosotravel and Get Your Guide - Horrible experience

Beware of booking anything via Rosotravel and Get Your Guide. We booked tours on booking.com and were better off or booked directly with the venue. We had a terrible experience having booked a tour to the Schonbrunn Palace and Gardens via Get Your Guide and Rosotravel. We were there early and couldn't find our tour guide even using our navigator. Its a huge space and for 45 we tried to contact someone from Get Your Guide and Rosotravel to help us find our tour guide. They don't provde the tour guides phone number. After messaging for over 45 minutes, Get your Guide finally tried to reach our tour guide and admitted he wasn't answer the phone. Had they called him earlier maybe we would have found them? They never refunded our money and we were also available to rebook but they denied the request. Kept telling us we cancelled even though we were there on the property and even sent pictures of where we were. They didn't care and just took our money! Do yourself a favor and book yourself and get an audio guide in your language. If you want more history, and use a guide I recommend booking.com or another vendor. By the Way, Get Your Guide also charged us the first day of booking in September even through the tour wasn't planned until mid October. They aren't supposed to do that. We are fighting this with our credit card since they are inflexible helping us.

Response from the operator: Dear Client, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about all the inconveniences you have experienced. At the same time, however, we must emphasize that this review concerns the GetYourGuide platform, not Viator. We would like to confirm that about an hour before the tour, we send a general message to all participants with all the directions, address, link to Google Maps. The reserved spots are exclusively for you, preventing other potential customers from booking the same tour. Our guide was awaiting your arrival at the meeting point, but you did not show up. It is worth mentioning that our guides are responsible for the entire group and we have a strict entry time with tickets. Considering the above, our guides are asked to wait an additional 10 minutes as a gesture of goodwill, and then the tour must start. We have to take into account the other participants in the group and the quality of the services provided, so our guides turn off their phones to be able to fully focus on the group. This is the reason why contact with our guides after the start of the tour is challenging. Best regards. Rosotravel Team

Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.

How much does Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.

Is Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Vienna: Schönbrunn Palace Gardens Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vienna?

    +

On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vienna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
