What you get

    About this experience

Via Ferrata is like climbing a mountain, but in adventure mode and with great security, you will use a technical material (helmet, harnesses, gloves and dissipators) especially for this adventure. You will climb metal steps, enjoy a natural high-altitude route full of excitement with 3 zip lines (25, 35 and 10 meters), Tibetan and Monkey bridges, in a beautiful landscape in an agricultural village, which has incredible views of the mountains and the famous "Boquete de Zafarraya" which is a mountain pass in the Penibetic Mountain Range, constitutes the most important natural passage between the province of Malaga and the province of Granada. Is a nice adventure to enjoy with couple, friends, family, this via ferrata is perfect for initiation too, as we can adapt it to different levels. The Via Ferrata of Zafarraya has it ALL: it’s fun and exciting; has zip-line jumps and a nice dose of art in a breathtaking natural landscape. *It is necessary not to have vertigo.

    Great adventure, great guide

We went off to Via Ferrata with my 3 kids and had a great afternoon in the mountains with Frank our guide from Local Experiences. Frank is very helpful and skilled in mountaineering and really made us all feel safe and have a great time. The trail is about 3 hours long and you need to be in reasonable physical shape. You will be climbing on mountain ridges, use the ladders in the mountains, use zipline and bridges to make your way over the beautiful Via Ferrata and enjoy the stunning views. The reward at the end are some cold drinks, beer and snacks where you can look back at your great adventure. Thank you Frank hope to see you again soon!

    Fantastic adventure

Our Via Ferrata and Zip Line adventure was fantastic! The experience was brilliantly organised, and the guides were amazing—very friendly, safety-conscious, and incredibly supportive. The scenery was spectacular, with breathtaking views at every turn. The combination of climbing and zip-lining was exhilarating and perfect for our family, including our kids aged 12 and 15. The guides made sure everyone felt safe and confident throughout the entire experience. The whole activity was a perfect blend of challenge and fun. Highly recommend this adventure for anyone looking for an unforgettable outdoor experience!

    Really nice experience !

Really nice experience even in the middle of August the weather wasn’t too hot. David (the guide) was really nice. I recommend it to anyone, both beginners and more experienced.

    BOOK THIS IF YOU CAN

BOOK THIS AS FAST AS YOU CAN! This was the absolute highlight of our two weeks of vacation in Spain! Five and a half hours of pure fun, laughs, and smiles. You will be given a pick-up point when you book your adventure. You will also get a fun reminder the day before - pretty cool. Your host will be there on time to pick you up and take you up the beautiful mountains. Your host - in our case, David - is extremely knowledgeable and professional. They know the area very well and will give you some very interesting, valuable, and even funny information about it during the beautiful drive. When you arrive at the destination in the mountains, your host hooks you up with great-quality equipment - all carefully checked beforehand - and starts the hike. The hike soon becomes an amazing climb and zip line route up and around the mountain. I am warning you, there will be several breathtaking views along the way. We even saw eagles! The climbing and zip-lining are challenging - but not too challenging. Everyone who wants a thrill and a bit of outdoor fun can do this. You have the most amazing host with you. David is ready to cheer, guide, and help all the way. It feels very safe from the beginning to the end. At the end, your host brings out cold drinks (yes, also a darn good cold beer!) and sweet and savory snacks to finish it all off. Thank you, David, for creating a core memory with us. This day is one for the memory books. Do not hesitate. Book this adventure. Now. Go!

Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Malaga.

How much does Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya cost?

    +

Prices start at $78 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Malaga usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Malaga is not rushed.

Is Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Malaga, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Malaga can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Malaga and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Via Ferrata & Zip Line Zafarraya start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Malaga within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Malaga?

    +

On Outty we rank every Malaga experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Malaga City Tour 2 Hours Monumental Segway Tour, Taste of Malaga Tour : Tapas, History and Local Customs, Go local for a day!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Malaga?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Malaga?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
