    Everything was well...

Everything was well organized. The pace was comfortable: not to fast, nor too slow. The gondola ride was absolutely amazing experience. The one thing to notice, on the way back wasn't considered to make a restroom stop. It's a long ride. Have to ask twice before it was considered to make a stop. I was not the only one. Otherwise it is a beautiful experience.

    Rushed Venice

Very full on, seven hours on a coach was very tiring, pity there wasn’t a rail option. Our English guid didn’t give you time to absorb the beauty around you and moved very quickly. How ever our main guide did point us the right direction for a good restaurant. The optional gondola ride was well priced but we were taken down back street canals which were not very photogenic.

Venice tour was average, and felt a little lacking!

As first time visitors to Venice, my wife and I were excited to see the famed city. The 3 hour bus ride there was expected, as we stopped at a rest stop for some breakfast and bathroom break. Another stop is needed to pick up other tourists as well. Once we arrived in Venice, the boat cruise is not a 'cruise', but just a ferry from the bus drop off to Venice. Closed cabin boat on a very hot day was not a great start. Our tour then split into 2 groups, English and Spanish, which was very helpful and much easier moving forward. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered almost all of our questions, but it was not 2 hours and not very long in distance. After we passed St. Marks Square, we moved to a very brief glass blowing demonstration, which then led to a room with beautiful glassware. There was an attendant explaining the glassware, colors and shapes, but it quickly turned into a 30 minute sales pitch. Not what we expected at all and we couldn't leave that building fast enough. After that, we were set free for about 2 hours on our own, which was nice. Plenty of walking and exploring. During this time we had our lunch. We walked back to the meeting point, in which our guide led us to our gondola ride (purchased separately on the bus). My wife and I shared the gondola with another couple. The ride was very brief, and half the time was spent in the main waters, not the channels through the city. Our gondolier only spoke to his fellow gondoliers and did not speak to us at all. Gondola ride over, we waited for our 'cruise' back to the bus. 2 1/2 hours later, we arrived at our original spot.

    Hire better tour guides

The guide on the bus (Eddy) didn’t seem very friendly. He was a little stuck up. He didn’t give any facts or history on the way from Milan to Venice and the trip back. I feel he was just a chauffeur. They also made the passengers pay 1€ for water bottle when it is normally provided for free on other tours I have booked. Eddy then handed us off to another guide who was terrible and had a very heavy accent that you couldn’t understand her much. She was explaining about the mosaics in St Marks Square but couldn’t provide much detail. She then handed us back to Eddy who took us to a glass factory where they were trying to sell us stuff. He then took us on gondola rides which we paid for. It could have been a lot better in my opinion. In all honesty, the only good part about it was the ride to and from.

Response from the operator: Dear traveler, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that our guide Eddy did not meet your expectations and that the commentary during the transfer felt limited; we will share your comments with our team to help our guides engage more with guests along the way. We also regret that the explanations of the local guide in Venice were difficult to follow, and we will take note of this. Please be aware that the visit to the glass workshop is a traditional part of the Venetian experience with no obligation to purchase, and the gondola ride is an optional add-on. We appreciate your kind words about the journey itself and we hope to have the chance to welcome you again for a better experience. Thank you again for your honesty.

Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Milan.

How much does Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $165 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Milan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Milan is not rushed.

Is Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 395 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Milan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour?

    +

Around 138 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Milan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Milan and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Venice Day Trip from Milan with Guided City Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Milan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Milan?

    +

On Outty we rank every Milan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gnocchi, Pasta, Tiramisù and Wine Class, Milan: Pasta and Tiramisu Small Group Cooking Class with Wine, Milan's Hidden Gems: Unique Bike Tour (ENG, NL). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Milan?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Milan?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
