Scam
They texted me saying they had to cancel the trip. They asked me to cancel my booking. In that case, I would have gotten no refund. I had to call Viator customer service to get a refund.
Response from the operator: Gregor, I have the screenshots of our conversation. 1. The description of the tour clearly states that this tour requires a minimum of two people. 2. I contacted you 2 days before your tour because I knew no one else would join. I asked you to cancel because Viator charges US money if we cancel your tour. If you do, you get a full refund. You are lying when you say you have not gotten a refund. You even sent me a screenshot that clearly and unequivocally says "If the minimum of passengers is not met, your tour will be canceled and you will receive a FULL REFUND." You, Gregor, sent me this screenshot. Furthermore, I assured you, I, PERSONALLY, would make sure you got a refund. 3. This is not the first time we have asked customers to cancel. It is extremely unfair that viator charges us money for a tour we cannot run due to minimum of guests not met. 4. There was absolutely no need to involve Viator Customer Care. I reached out to you several times (again, I have our WhatsApp conversations to prove it) and you never replied. You completely ignored my messages. 5. Calling our experiences a "scam" is incredibly rude and plain defamatory. Again, I have the conversations and the screenshots of our exchanges, which have been forwarded to Customer Care and your review has been flagged as inaccurate and slanderous. 6. If you dont like how refunds are handled by Viator/TripAdvisor, take it up with them. We, in all good faith, would have expedited your refund, but now you have gone through Customer Care and it will now take 2 weeks. So unnecessary. -Mena

Intimate and Memorable Experience
We're honoured to have been able to participate in this intimate tour. Touring the city of the gods was awe-inspiring. It was a pleasure to meet and learn from Miguel, who taught us all about Teotihuacan before walking us through his beautiful neighbourhood to his home where we learned about the agave plant, his family's history carving obsidian, and had a mezcal tasting. Next we were invited to have a homemade lunch in Don Lalo's garden. The meal was incredibly delicious. It was so beautiful and peaceful walking through the town. It was personal human to human experience we will remember. We're truly thankful to Travelling Herbivore for inviting tourists to share in this experience. Support them by booking directly through their website. You'll love this tour.

Amazing and Unforgettable Tour
An amazing day - one we will talk about for years to come. Our guide for the day, Sharon, was absolutely amazing! From start to finish it felt like travelling with a friend with a perfect day planned. The private tour around the pyramids was terrific followed by salsa and tasting and a beautiful lunch in a garden of a local home. Cannot recommend this tour enough. Kudos to Sharon and the Travelling Herbivore team.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review. We are thrilled to know you had a memorable day with us :) Best, -Mena 🦕

Book a tour with Mena!
After having wanted to go for who knows how many years I finally decided to see Teotihuacán and it did not disappoint! I didn't quite know how to go about getting there since I traveled to Mexico City on my own, so I did what everyone else does and did a Google search. Through that search I found a few tours, but the name Traveling Herbivore just got my attention so I decided to book a tour. I'm so glad that I booked with Mena! She is just a fun and awesome person to be around. She was knowledgeable about the pyramids and knew some good guides that brought us into the site itself. The lunch was at a local family's house. We had an authentic homemade vegan Mexican lunch and it was delicious. Meeting the family was a really great experience, too I know that she does tours in other parts of Mexico and I know that whenever I return I will be sure to book a tour with her.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thorough review. It means the world to us. You are welcome back anytime <3 🦕

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Vegan and Vegetarian Teotihuacan Experience with Homemade Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
