Extremely disappointing experince with Like Peru in Machu Picchu

Extremely disappointing experience – I would not recommend this agency My experience with this agency was absolutely terrible from beginning to end. Considering how expensive the tour was, the complete lack of organization, communication, and professionalism was unacceptable. I booked my Machu Picchu day trip a month in advance. At the time of booking, the agency assured me that my tickets were secured for 10 AM and that everything, including transportation from Cusco, would be arranged without any issues. However, just two days before the tour, I was informed that they had failed to secure my tickets for the agreed time and had only managed to get tickets for 6 AM. As a result, we had to completely rearrange a trip that had been planned months in advance just to accommodate their failure. We traveled to Ollantaytambo the night before, as required by the new schedule. We arrived at the train station around 7 PM for our scheduled 8:30 PM PeruRail train. The train never arrived at the scheduled time and was delayed until approximately 1 AM. We were left waiting for hours with virtually no information or assistance. Neither the agency nor PeruRail provided us with meaningful updates, and the agency was practically impossible to reach. We had no idea whether the train would arrive at all, so we were forced to wait at the station for almost six additional hours. The entire situation was chaotic and exhausting. The conditions and lack of adequate facilities while we were waiting only made things worse. We eventually arrived in Aguas Calientes in the early hours of the morning and reached our hotel around 4 AM, with the guide scheduled to pick us up at 5:15 AM. And then the guide did not even show up. After repeatedly calling him, we were told that he had overslept and missed the scheduled pickup. This was completely unacceptable, especially after the exhausting night we had already endured due to the transportation delays and the agency’s poor planning. The guided tour of Machu Picchu itself was also disappointing. The guide spent very little time with us and provided minimal explanations about the site and its history. For such an expensive and once-in-a-lifetime experience, we expected a much more engaging and informative tour. To make matters worse, the agency repeatedly showed up at our hotel demanding payment, but their own card machine did not work. This added yet another layer of unnecessary stress to an experience that had already been a complete mess. While the train delay itself may not have been entirely within the agency’s control, their failure to communicate, provide assistance, ensure a reliable pickup, and deliver a quality guided tour absolutely was. Machu Picchu is an extraordinary place, and visiting it should be an unforgettable experience for the right reasons. Unfortunately, this agency turned what should have been one of the highlights of our trip into an exhausting, stressful, and deeply disappointing ordeal. I would not recommend this agency. For the price they charge, the level of service was nowhere near acceptable. Poor organization, virtually nonexistent communication, an unreliable guide, and unnecessary payment issues made this an experience I would never want to repeat.

    10/10 experience

We did the full-day tour to Machu Picchu and we could not be happier with the service provided and the attention received. All the details were perfectly organized and the experience was fabulous. Thanks to Edwar for his kindness and his excellent management, and for helping us visit one of the most wonderful places one can see.

Great guide, a little expensive though

I only booked the Machu Picchu visit from Aguas Calientes and everything was very smooth. Edwar planned all the logistics and Miguel was our guide who was very knowledgeable and based everything on archaeological facts.

    Amazing even at short notice

Despite the short notice with which we planned our trip, Peru Like coordinated us perfectly to know this wonder. The attention was immediate, attentive and very pleasant, the transports well coordinated and the guide, in addition to friendly, proved to have much knowledge of the citadel and the Inca culture. 100% recommend them!

Response from the operator: Thank you a lot, Your words encourage us to continually improve our work and the quality that defines us. Best regards.

Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D cost?

    +

Prices start at $390 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D take?

    +

Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 15-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Unique tour Machu Picchu Premium All included from Cusco 1 D start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
