Uluwatu Temple and Kecak Fire Dance.

A must see cultural moment. Stay for the Kecak Fire Dance. Well worth it! The sunset is spectacular. The monkeys are crafty critters! Don’t leave anything to chance! Phones in pockets; sunglasses and eye glasses on heads; hats; jewellery; water bottles! All are fair game. Don’t make eye contact with them as this is a challenge they won’t leave unanswered. Must do with a guide. I booked through Viator and best thing I did. My guide Dedy was sensational! Door to door service and a wealth of knowledge and experience. Highly recommend. He explained the story behind the dance and the temple’s history. A safe and reliable driver.

    Sunset Storytelling at Uluwatu Temple

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Balinese culture and led us through the tour superbly answering our questions, pointing out temples, taking our photographs and guiding us along the trail that would eventually end where the Kecak fire dance would begin. The tour was planned perfectly so that we could watch the sunset from the temple’s dramatic cliffside location where we enjoyed stunning views of the Indian Ocean stretching endlessly across the horizon. The Kecak dance at sunset tells a fascinating story and is truly a must-see experience if you are here, I have never seen anything like it. Tips: On your trail around the grounds keep your personal belongings out of sight, the monkeys are clever and bold and will happily snatch items knowing a guide might bribe them with food to return what they’ve stolen. It was funny to watch but also a little worrying, especially for those who never got their things back which you could tell by the remains scattered where the monkeys gather.

Response from the operator: Hi Mr David Uluwatu is one of the places in southern Bali to enjoy the sunset. And it's a rather popular venue for traditional dance performances. But because the area is still natural and close to the forest, many wild monkeys roam around and visitors are advised to be careful with valuable items like cell phones and jewelry. Thank you Regard Adie

Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nusa Dua.

How much does Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $72 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nusa Dua usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nusa Dua is not rushed.

Is Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Nusa Dua, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nusa Dua can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nusa Dua and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Fire Dance Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nusa Dua within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nusa Dua?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nusa Dua experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bali Blue Lagoon Snorkeling - Lunch and Transport All Inclusive, Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Tour - Bali Volcano Adventure, All inclusive Private 3 day tours package : Bali highlights. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nusa Dua?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nusa Dua?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
