    What you'll see and do

    1. Sorrento

Arrive to Sorrento and immediately be in awe of her beauty, standing on a terrace that increases rapidly above the sea on one of the most spectacular points of the Campania coast. Wedged on this ledge between the mountains and the Mediterranean, this attractive resort town is a must-do for vacationers in the region. Due to its location and a mild climate, Sorrento had been favored as a place of choice by ancient Romans. Spend approximately 1-hour in Sorrento and discover for yourself a most pleasant place to stroll and admire what the locals have gone out of their way to create in a completely safe and relaxed place for tourists. Interjected with lemon and olive groves, this gateway to the Amalfi Coast has an unspoiled old quarter, a lively main shopping street, and the most spectacular cliffside setting.

      120 minutes here

    2. Positano

Continue from Sorrento along the spectacular narrow coastal highway to Positano, approximately 45min’s drive, located in the middle of the Amalfi coast. Like the legendary Sirens of Li Galli, this scenic locale never fails to seduce her travelers. From the sea, Positano is set in a dramatic vertical panorama of colors with green from the Monti Lattari, to white, pink and yellow of Mediterranean houses. Spend approximately 15 minutes here with a panoramic photoshop on the top of Positano.

      60 minutes here

    3. Amalfi

Next up, you will travel from Positano to Amalfi, the town the coastal drive has been named after. This beautiful and graceful place is known for clusters of white buildings that shine like a pearl in the strand of towns looped along the Amalfi coast. After approximately 1-hour’s drive, arrive to one of the more level towns and discover how it rambles up the hillside from the water instead of clinging precariously to it like some of the other famous destinations, making it easier to walk. One of the most historic towns along the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi had a glorious history as a maritime republic whose status joined the ranks of coastal powerhouses like Pisa, Venice and Genoa. Spend approximately 1-hour here and discover the primary product is enormous orbs of lemons, picked fresh to make limoncello liqueur and used in local dishes as well. The lemon motif shows up in regional ceramics and citrus scent fills the air as you meander about.

      120 minutes here

    4. Ravello

Lastly, and to round out this most extraordinary day, leave Amalfi and travel to Ravello, a short 15-minutes-drive away. Located between the most precious gems of the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is famous for its tranquil atmosphere and panoramic views. This hidden treasure with villas and gardens has been named the City of Music and is home to the Villa Cimbrone, Villa Rufolo, the striking Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium and a vibrant cultural scene. With thousands of years of history, this enchanting mountaintop setting has enthralled countless visitors, inspired artists and fulfilled passion in others. There are still chapters yet to be written along her medieval streets, in garden villas and along ancient stone paths. After approximately 1-hour here it will be time to return to Naples.

    Trip of a lifetime!

A dream! If you are travelling to Southern Italy, you really must book this tour of the Amalfi Coast. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and our driver was so skilled at navigating the often steep and hilly roads. I never could have driven this myself with a hire car. He also enlightened us with local knowledge, making the day not only beautiful but also interesting. I highly recommend!

Holiday of a lifetime with Discover Italy!

Discover Italy provided my family and me with the holiday of a lifetime! From the time we were picked up from the airport until the time we were dropped off to return home, the trip was perfect. In the planning phase, we were given a range of accommodation types to choose from, and from there, the practicalities were taken care of by our wonderful travel agent, who speaks English and is a good communicator. The apartment we chose was perfect: spacious, beautiful, air conditioned, and in a perfect location by the sea, with handy access to shops, cafes, taxis, and restaurants. We chose two tours: the Amalfi Coast tour and the Capri boat tour. These trips were incredibly well organized, and we’ll never forget these experiences. Definitely the highlights of the trip! The Amalfi Tour had a clearly experienced driver/guide, whose deep knowledge of the area was interesting and impressive. He was friendly and courteous throughout the day and made everyone on the tour feel at home. We stopped off at Ravello, Amalfi, and Sorrento, with the added benefit that I was able to get all my souvenir and gift shopping done in one afternoon. The Capri boat tour was also unforgettable. The boat driver was friendly, careful, and made sure everyone was comfortable. The views were spectacular, and my 21-year-old son even swam off the boat, which he described as the trip’s highlight. Throughout our week in Naples, we were able to rely on the helpful advice and tips of our travel agent and felt reassured that the trip would go smoothly. As a result, we had a much-needed vacation in which, thanks to all those at Visit Italy, we were able to relax and enjoy the trip instead of stress over practicalities. It was clear we were in good, capable hands. When we were dropped off at the airport to leave, I realized that I did not have to worry about anything all week. All our needs were taken care off. I highly recommend Discover Italy and am confident that they strive to give the same high-quality customer service to each individual they work with. On the flight home, my son said that the trip felt like “an injection of life”. I agreed, and now I know where to go when I want to feel more alive!

    Beautiful

Great tour guide-very personable and helped us enjoy the trip. The place we stopped for lunch was beautiful, but ridiculously expensive- we split one meal of 4 small raviolis (2 each) and we each had one glass of house wine for 71 Euros! I would suggest a lunch stop in one of the towns on the tour where you could choose your own place to eat.

Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people cost?

    +

Prices start at $213 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ultimate Sorrento and Amalfi Coast from Naples - Up to 8 people start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
