Amazing Experience with Our Tour of the Tulum Ruins!

We had such an amazing time with our tour guide, Ana! She was so knowledgeable of both the history and present-day conditions, and what Mayans believe and why. It was so much fun too!

    Anna was our tour guide....

Anna was our tour guide. She was very patient with our whole group and accommodating for people with handicap, as well as when someone was feeling ill. And ensured everyone was included. She was also very knowledgeable. The ruins were phenomenal to experience

Tulum with Anna - You Won’t Find a Better Teacher

Anna was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Mexico. If you can request her for your Tulum tour (or any tour), DO IT! She even kept our 15 year old son engaged. Quickly, we weren't just Anna’s tour group, we were “la familia de Anna.” Her warmth felt completely genuine and her enthusiasm was contagious At Tulum she made the ruins feel human and we really could picture the people who had lived there, with families, homes, work, trade and beliefs. And her classroom wasn’t just the tour itself, lessons began during the ride to the ruins and continued on the way home. We cannot recommend Anna highly enough.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review! We’re truly honored to hear that Anna was one of the highlights of your entire trip to Mexico. It’s wonderful to know that her warmth, enthusiasm, and passion for history made such a lasting impression on your family—even keeping your 15-year-old engaged throughout the experience! We especially love hearing how Anna brought Tulum to life by helping you imagine the families, traditions, daily life, and community that once existed there. Her ability to make history feel personal and engaging is something we deeply value. We’ll be sure to share your beautiful recognition with Anna. She’ll be thrilled to know that she helped make your family’s experience so meaningful and memorable. Thank you for your heartfelt recommendation and for choosing Cancun Adventures. We hope to welcome your family back soon for another unforgettable adventure in the Riviera Maya! — Cancun Adventures

    Bring water and umbrella...

Bring water and umbrella and be sure to nourish before setting off for the ruins. A lot of walking and uneven steps.

Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tulum.

How much does Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya cost?

    +

Prices start at $67 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tulum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tulum is not rushed.

Is Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 497 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tulum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya?

    +

Around 174 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tulum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tulum and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tulum Ruins Guided Tour from Cancun and Riviera Maya start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tulum within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tulum?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tulum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal and Cenote tour, Tulum Guided Tour, Magical Cenote, Lagoon Snorkeling and Beachside Lunch, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tulum?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tulum?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
