Cruise in comfort towards Skjervøy via the magnificent mountain and seascapes while listening as a guide sheds light on the different fish and whale species thriving in the mineral-rich waters. Take sea sickness meds!

Take sickness medication with you!! We had 3 hours of horrible choppy waters and people were throwing up left right and centre. We went on 25 January and unfortunately only saw the tops of 4 sperms whales, so I think the blue and orcas are migrating to warmer seas earlier. Tea, coffee granules and biscuits on board. Lunch is tomato soup which leaves a lot to be desired. Staff were nice.

You should not trust this company. They discriminate and cancel your tour hours before happening without a reason

This company canceled my tour hours before happening. I booked this tour months ago and they canceled my tour because I was just one person and they wanted to take a bigger group. Don’t trust this company you’ll never know when they will cancel it just because of financial reasons . I strongly recommend not to use it.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, you were not treated badly in any way. There are sometimes times when we have to change the tour and the guest gets several choices just like you, just like you got. Please be so kind and don't write misleading reviews and untruths, it's so incredibly unnecessary and not kind. Welcome back on another occasion. Best regards POlar Team

    MAGICAL Norwegian journey

This is one of the most magical experiences I have ever had! We lucked out with perfect weather for winter in Norway. Clear skies for the limited daylight we had and it was gorgeous. The boat ride out to the bay was surrounded by snowcapped mountains and the crew provided great information about the journey and the whales. Once to the spot, it was nonstop wildlife. A few people saw a mink whale! But everyone saw plenty of humpbacks and orcas. We spent plenty of time at the location and everyone was having an amazing time. On the ride back, they served delicious soup and we had snacks and beverages the entire time. On the journey back, we even got to see the northern lights, which was just a cherry on top of an already perfect day. My group LOVED this tour and I would do it again. If you are having doubts, throw them away and book this!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the tour :) We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon! Warm regards, The Polar Adventures Team

100% recommend - amazing day viewing orca in November

An absolutely incredible day with Polar Adventures. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, the journey to and from Skervjoy was comfortable despite the choppy waves and it was just a small group on the boat, and to top it off we saw 25-30 orca. We were lucky to split off from the other tour boats and followed one pod for over an hour. We also did the northern lights tour with this company which was also excellent - brilliant views of the northern lights even on a very cloudy and snowy evening.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour :) We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon! Warm regards, The Polar Adventures Team

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.

How much does Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax) cost?

    +

Prices start at $277 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax) take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.

Is Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 204 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax)?

    +

Around 71 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tromsø Whale & Orca Safari – All-Inclusive (Max 50 pax) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tromso?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Big Bus Chase with Chasing Lights, Northern Lights Minibus Chase from Tromsø with Chasing Lights, Tromsø Northern Lights Chase We Go Where The Lights Appear. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
