Unforgettable Magic Moments

Our friend recommended Arctic Wild Tours after taking a tour with them last year. We traveled all the way from the United States to Tromsø to make our dream come true! If you're looking for a Northern Lights tour in Tromsø, don't hesitate to book with Arctic Wild Tours. The team really knows where to go to avoid the clouds. We drove quite a distance, but it was absolutely worth it because we experienced one of the strongest Aurora displays we've ever seen. A magical night that we'll never forget.

Lorenzo found spectacular lights!

It was pouring rain in Tromso and we figured we’d just have to abandon hope of seeing the aurora. Nope! Lorenzo assured us there was a clearing near Finland — and he was right! We made two stops and saw a fantastic show at both. Everything was handled with utter professionalism.

Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for a warm review! We are glad to make our guests happy and the dreams come true! The weather can be challenging, ideed. But we always try our best! Wishing you fun future travels and you are always welcome back in our lovely city! And thank you once again for choosing us!

Northern Lights

We had a great experience. Our guide Vera was super informed. The weather was not good but she did everything in her power to get us to experience the northern lights. We went almost to Finland to find the right place and she found it. We were the only ones there. The small group of 8 people helped to be flexible and make everyone happy. The aurora exploded above us and for the right amount of time. Vera took amazing pictures right before starting a fire and spending some time getting warm before returning. Amazing experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re very happy to hear that Vera helped make your Northern Lights experience so special. Arctic weather can be unpredictable, so we always do our best to chase clear skies — and sometimes that means driving all the way close to Finland! We’re glad the effort paid off and that you could enjoy such a powerful Aurora almost all to yourselves ✨ Small groups really help us stay flexible and create a more personal experience, so it’s great to know you appreciated that as well. Vera will also be very happy to hear that you loved the photos she captured during the night. Thank you again for joining Arctic Wild Tours.

Simply Stunning from Start to Finish

The night was absolutely perfect. Alex, our driver and tour guide, along with the sweetest first-time guide (I’m so sorry I can’t remember his name), were truly outstanding, very kind, caring and funny. The Northern Lights were incredibly active and certainly did not disappoint. The professional photographs were stunning, Alex captured absolute perfection. Both guides were extremely knowledgeable, and it was a pleasure to see and hear Alex patiently explaining the aurora borealis to the new guide and sharing tips on how best to find the lights. As an added bonus, we teamed up with another guide who was wonderfully knowledgeable about the stars, and we enjoyed biscuits by a much-welcomed fire. The entire evening was fascinating, just stunning, and I would wholeheartedly recommend booking a tour with them.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful and detailed review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your night was so special and that the Northern Lights put on such an incredible show for you. Moments like these are exactly why we love what we do! Thank you again for joining us — it truly means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable Arctic adventure!

Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.

How much does Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos cost?

+

Prices start at $1550 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.

Is Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 68 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos?

+

Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tromsø: Aurora Magic Northern Lights Tour with Photos start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tromso?

+

On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Minibus Chase from Tromsø with Chasing Lights, Northern Lights Big Bus Chase with Chasing Lights, Tromsø Northern Lights Chase We Go Where The Lights Appear. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
