About this experience
Krating Cape is a beautiful viewing point on the south west coast of Phuket. It's quite difficult to get to, but if you do not mind walking 30-40 minutes past the rocks, cliffs, and steep hills, then it is definitely a place you should not miss. Krating Cape is known among photographers for its starlit landscapes, free from light pollution. There is a horn-shaped rock where photographers enjoy taking amazing photos. The panoramic views are very beautiful, especially during sunset. You should wear proper shoes, carry a head light, water, and wear long pants. From Krating Cape you can see Nad-harn Beach and the west coast of Phuket. Next to Nad-harn is Promthep Cape at the south end of Phuket and from here you can see Coral and Racha Island.

Sunset trek
It’s a very good sunset trek. Tour guide is friendly and speaks good English. Price is very reasonable. Wear proper shoes though cuz the path can be slippery. Highly recommended!

Unprofessional and False Advertisement. Not worth it.
First off, my tour guide was 50 minutes late picking me up from the hotel. I had to call the tour company and see what was going on. They did not know I had a reservation that day (even though I had booked many days in advance and contacted the tour operator numerous times beforehand to confirm, which they never replied to). When the tour guide finally showed up, they did not apologize for the delay. The hike only took 15 minutes, not 30-40 like is advertised. I also did not receive a ''soda/pop'', which says is included. I was not even offered water. The walk itself is nice and the view is pretty, but a guide is unnecessary. The tour guide doesn't explain anything and doesn't provide any insightful information. Overall, the experience is not worth paying money for. I would recommend doing this hike by yourself for free.

Great experience cliffside hike
View of sunset was great. Peaceful, not crowded, place. Hike is not for the faint of heart. Need to wear covered shoes with grip and be ready to walk along an ocean cliffside and on rocks. It is rewarding to see sunset. Host used WhatsApp to confirm reservation beforehand and to share pictures, which was very helpful.

Nice hike
The weather didn’t permit a full sunset at the point but the hike was nice and the guide was patient and helpful.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Trekking for sunset: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.
How much does Trekking for sunset cost?
+
Prices start at $22 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Trekking for sunset take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.
Is Trekking for sunset worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Trekking for sunset?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Trekking for sunset suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Trekking for sunset?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Trekking for sunset start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Phuket?
+
On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Phuket?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Phuket?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
